You know... does nobody know what OP means? Jeez...
On your idea, it sounds to much of the Charger, and it's overpowered. 50 feet, that's a bit much. What if it runs off a cliff? Your character dies, and the Survivor only gets downed (which doesn't do any damage FYI).
I think having similar SIs aren't a good idea. All of the current SIs are unique. Boomer attracts a Horde; Smoker pulls someone; Hunter pounces someone; Spitter produces acid; Charger separates group and is super fast; Tank is super-strong; Jockey takes control of a Survivor.Originally Posted by David Lynch

The new SI might be similar to the old ones and indeed their actions are almost identical. The difference is what those actions do to the survivors once performed.
For instance, the Boomer draws common infected to the survivors by vomiting thereby dealing damage and causing confusion. The spitter vomits like the boomer but that where the similarities end. The spitter breaks up the survivors and will force them to leave a specific area. So no more camping The same thing applies to the other new infected and their counterparts.
Back to the original post. I like the idea, but I have to agree with most of the other people posting here. But remember, people coming up with new ideas is how we get new characters and new games. I tip my hat to your creativity sir.Team "L4D JUNKIES" - Still winning some, still losing some but our sense of humor and confusing in game conversations remain!!!

Let's use some common sense.
The point of the Spitter: To prevent corner camping, something a Boomer can't do.
The point of a Jockey: To seperate the group, something the Hunter can't do.
The point of a Charger: To deal significant damage and seperate a group and cause all around chaos and be a sort of boss SI, the tank has way more health and can't pin a survivor. The tank is also way more powerful.
The point of Stabber: to be the exact same thing as a Smoker except to deal more damage. How would we get out of being pinned on a wall? If you honestly can't keep a team of survivors from moving so fast with a smoker and a hunter, then you seriously need to rethink your strategy.
Also, when SI start becoming to alike, there is way less strategy. What happens if you spawn a Charger, Smoker, Boomer, and Hunter? You get a chance for a great attack. The boomer vomits on the survivors, the hunter and charger go after the two not vomited on, and the smoker picks off the one closest to the two not vomited on. That creates some great havic.
What would happen if you spawned a charger, tank, hunter, and stabber? The team is way overpowered. Not only that, but it becomes boring because you are essentially playing the same characters.
Don't ask for constructive critisism if you are just going to argue everytime someone gives some. The Dukes, currently having fun pub stomping.

Huh? How is the Spitter similar to the Boomer? Because it produces a liquid that is puked from it's mouth? Isn't that basically saying all the SI are alike because they can melee? The Spitter's acid hurts the Survivor, whereas the Boomer bile attracks a horde of Infected.
The Jockey moves the Survivor around, the Hunter pins a Survivor to a specific spot.
How is the Charger similar to the Tank, in any way?Originally Posted by David Lynch
