    The Forgotten Live Test

First off i would just like to thank all those who showed! We had a really high turn out and i got a ton of info.

let me explain just why the map is so dark.

I usually use the order of:
    Basic Brush layout
    Texturing
    Lighting
    Then detail

When i am making a map, i showed a few the map when it was just in the very beginning of the lighting stage and i got a lot of positive feed back so i went with the dark theme.

How ever i am getting a lot of mixed comments, though the map is a lot of fun as a knife prime map, i do want it to be played in competitive leagues so it will need some lighting. I would appreciate it if everyone would vote about it and reply with what you think of the map. Keep in mind its not even into the detail stage yet so its very basic save the few props i added before the beta live test.

In my original vision of this map i had kind of a inferno feel to it: paths made by buildings lined up (hence the little mid area) however in the progression of the map i had strayed from my vision a little. What do you guys think? Right now it lacks sense to why paths are where they are, if i follow my vision it it should bring some fluidity to the layout however i am nervious about making these significate layout changes and altering the timings we have now. Since from the testing everything played out PERFECT. Cts arrived at A just moments before t's got there, and the timeing for b turned out to be very similar to A on dust2.

Something needs to be done about the mid exit that is near ct spawn bc it can be used to see where t's are going moments out of spawn (though this really does not have that big of a impact on maps like port) and can be used to even foul the cts, thoughts?

Heres a few changes i am going to implement:

-Will make the upper b exit into a set of windows (like those in inferno near t spawn) and have a stair way off to the side
-Will add some very subtle lights (maybe in all of the nitches in connector (ct spawn).
-Make the opening for the stairs by b bigger
    -Lights on the ttp bilboard

So what did you guys think of it?

i'd vote that you put more lights...but not take out the shadows, just put a few more lights here and there...maybe some more rooms because it is a little small :P

But AMAZING MAP besides those points

I say you keep this one and make a lightened up version, like dust 2 and dust2 light lol.

The overall layout i thought was very good. There were a few path ways that were too dark and it was hard to find your way through them. The one that sticks out to me is coming from T spawn to upper A. Maybe a subtle light there just to show where the walls are.

    Bunni,

Sorry I couldn't stick around longer. I really loved the map, but I felt there needed to be just a little more ambient light in some of the hallways. I like the shadows, and hiding spots, but I too got lost in some corners. Nice job,and I look forward to your future creations. Let me know next time there is a testing and I will lend a hand.

I loved the layout first and Formost. Only things I would lie to see is more lighting an larger bomb sites. Other then that it was a fun, fast paced map. A little polish and that map will shine up nice. Good job bunni
