The doorbell rang...
They looked innocent enough in their green and brown uniforms.
The last thing I remember was saying, "No, thank you."
after one of them had asked, "Would you like to buy some cookies?"

    Sierra's 'Mummy' Farewell

We're not saying Vivendi Games's Sierra label's perfect, but after working on F.E.A.R and Half-Life, we all would expect a worthy final project on their last hoorah, since Activision Blizzard decided to shut them down. But, what do we get? Three digital Brendan Frasers on the Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor video game adaptations.

As expected, the movie wasn't well received by many critics so we need not to go further on how many times we have to write down "suck" about the game translation. But we'll let an IGN reviewer take one for the team and tell you how "suck" the game is after the cut.

Sam Bishop from IGN wrote in his PS2 review:

"The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is simply a bad game. It may have been better with more time and a few more eyes taking a look at the product before it shipped, but it's just as likely that biting all that style off better games just meant it would have been a pale imitator to begin with. As the game stands now, it's an infuriatingly unbalanced, unpolished and underwhelming experience that nobody -- not even fans of the movies -- should spend money on."

Goodbye Sierra and may you rest peacefully, under no shadows of corporate axes.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, for the final time - published by Sierra, was released last month for the Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii and DS.
