Thread: EA is trying to screw me over....

So I pre-purchased Battlefield Hardline back on June 9 2014. EA charges for pre-orders right away.

I get an email today saying:


So I contact support and explain that I had already paid and that the card used expired. And I do not know why they even need to charge again......

Support says I have not paid...... im like WTF?!?!?!?!?

sounds like a simple mistake. Have them call your bank to verify the transaction.

When I preordered BF3 and BF4 I didnt pay for it until it released. At least that was my experience. I dont remember where I bought BF4 anymore....

You were never charged back in June 2014. This is the first time that you're being charged, but the credit card info is out of date. If you update the credit card info, EA can attempt to process the charge again due to the first attempt failing.

Ok so after reviewing my credit card statements from back then.

They did indeed remove the full funds from my account for 7 days, which they then returned the funds. (Was definitely not a hold, but two distinct transactions).

I am a bit more relieved now, updated my payment and it went through a few hours later....

I can't see that as being a problem for anyone but hardware reviewers. What gamer changes the hardware in their computer eight times a day to get a lock out like this?

It's more of an issue of why it's there in the first place.
