Things you like to do and points you like to defend

What are some of your favorite spots to defend and how do you do it?

When squad leading are you more of a pursuer or a defender or a little bit of both?

What do you find is the best way to capture locked down points. Such as B flag on Metro and B flag on Bazaar.

1.) On kharg island C and D are probably my most favorite spots to defend. I tend to stray more towards the E side defending the area near the cisterns. When on the other side I find the rocks just west of C to be a great spot to take out squads coming from A and B.

Another one of my favorite spots is B on Tehran Highway. I find it pretty damn fun to guard around the bus as well as the far right side near the containers.

2.) When squad leading I tend to leave a member behind at the flag last capped and push everyone else to a different flag. I always try to take a more offensive role when we are behind and a more defensive role when the team is winning. I find that in BF3 its best that you leave at least 1 person behind at a flag so they can not only hold onto the point but locate enemies coming behind the rest of your squad. I'm not too good at defending with armor so maybe remy can address this here. When I get in armor it's hard for me to see what's going on in all directions so most of the time when I squad lead I dont use armor much. I would rather see a full 360 degrees with a quick turn of the mouse and I am not talented enough to both view, spot, and kill all at the same time when in armor.

3.) Locked points are always a pain in the ass especially when its a critical point. I know a lot of people feel as though B on bazaar is a bitch and some may call it a meat grinder. This is true, however, if you control either A or C adding B to your flags capped can become a winning strategy. When attacking B from C I like to move around the left side towards Echo and rush the left alleyway, usually there is going to be some enemies in the hallways and they are focusing on E or B so you can sneak right behind them. When attacking from A there is a alleyway on the right side of A that leads to a moderately open garage door. This point, when you have about 2-3 ppl with you is usually a flag turner(just be cautious of the hallway across from you) If you have someone good with c4 it's a good practice to line the back hallway with c4...especially when defending this point.

I absolutely hate trying to get B on metro... It is a tough point to cap especially from the one side. One of the keys to this flag imo is to make sure all area's are covered. If you can get up the first set of escalators then you can push off to the left ... go prone behind the broken down locker or vending machine(whatever that is) and start shooting or spotting guys immediately right of you as well as those to the left. If you have a full squad and someone has smoke it's a good tactic to try and go to the back escalators smoke the actual escalators NOT above.. Then have your squad make a mad dash.. Just be sure to keep one person at the top of the escalators to get anyone who may possibly shoot you before you make it to A.

The other game changing point is D on Caspian.. I really like to get this flag so most of the time if you're in my squad we will be defending / attacking D. There are 2 really good ways to attack D. If you are at D looking at the left road path facing E there is a small fence there that provides great cover and most people defending are always looking at either E B or C. This small fence path provides a great directional view for your squad to locate enemies at the tower, building, and near the tow. Once you get a clearing on that side you can push from the left side near the small building and send 2 squadmates to the small right building.
The other way I like to attack D is from the mountain path near C. If you can get up that path make an immediate right and get behind the dumpster on the right side of the building you are most likely going to cap that flag. Usually there are some snipers camping on the right side mountain that are some good knife kills.
I usually like to shoot the unsuspecting players with my pistol and save the rifle for the immediate threats.

These are some of my favorite things to do..... List some of yours

.....em... I tend to do what my SL wants me to do (well, the 75% of the time I get what he said). I also tend to give the SL role to someone else if became one.

Oh, and I tend to call people noob for using certain weapons in order to confuse, disorganize them and make them waste their time on the chat. It worked pretty damn well a few times.

(on a more serious note, there really isnt a spot that I prefer to attack/defend for certain maps, at least not in BF3, and I don't usually stick to one pre-determined tactic when engaging/defending flags my SL wants. I just go the way I feel it at the very moment, improvising.)

B flag Grand Bazaar is one of my favorite spots. Once you get a good squad or two in there and lock it down - it makes for some great peekaboo mind fuck games. Ask Remy how he liked that headshot last night as he was trying to crawl up Alpha stairs like a sneaky snake...

You need to have names for all the individual rooms in that hallway and drop med packs at every corner you are peeking. A good squad that has this down can lock B very efficiently. Also I've noticed what helps is having someone in the squad running SQFlak and SQCover as there is tons of nade/rpg spam.

I will write some of my tactics when I'm in front of the keyboard... But one of my favorite tactics is to not attack the favorite points, people like bob, visuvius and war attack the cool flags c and d on kharg island, and often people neglect the a,b,e flags, I'll be the one doing the real dirty work, getting those points, holding them while my team loses the celebrity points before falling back onto my flags. I'm not really a defender of a flag unless its key,I like to run and gun, my squad often will end up in heavy resistance, spawning on me will result in a fast death or a vicious gun fight, bob often curses at spawning green with me, most of his spawn dies are on me. I like 2 medics, 1 support (c4) and 1 anti tank in my squad, this is a fast moving crew and I want the utmost diversity. So there's a few of my tactics for ground, I only want air if its helicopters, and the jet for a jump point. As far as armor goes I like to spearhead attacks on flags with some serious ass, tank in the front as a distraction and my squad can flank kill people pre occupied with my heavy... Lavs are mainly transport for me, I'll almost always opt for fast movers over armor. Keeping the enemy guessing is the best tactic in my opinion, too many people will repeat the same attack over and over expecting a different result, I say with so little time be flexible and wreak some chaos.
