No indeed. You don't have to wait ten minutes to see an enemy.... instead you spawn directly into the action, right the middle of an enemy crosshair, on thigh narrow maps that encourage excessive explosive spam. More action = better, right? right...

    lol

    ....

Well, this is only a guess because I never played BC2 .... but if you loved BC2, you will love BC3! BC3 is pretty and you can have a lot of fun with it, I don't consider it much of an upgrade for BF2. I am playing BC3, but I know what it is and what it isn't. I knew about its "warts" before I bought it and was still surprised at how big and stinky those "warts" were. But as I said, BC3 can be great fun. I think the graphics are outstanding.

If you do invest in BC3, I would suggest that you play on the server when there are less than 30 people so you can do the "Rush" maps. Those are actually good fun. Of course, you will want to join the server when more people are on to play the "Conquest" maps. You should give the missions a go as well.

Oh, and make sure you have TS installed as this is the only way you will have VOIP in game.

BC3 VOIP - as provided by the kind folks at Teamplayer Gaming!

I will agree that a couple of the bf3 maps are overly tin and long, but for the most part the maps are a perfect balance between large and focused. The issue I had with bf3 was that there were times that you would be asked to protect a flash by your squad leader, so you bunker up and wait.... And wait.... And wait.... In bc2 you couldn't breathe, I remember playing it the other day and I was drinking beer, I couldn't drink my beer like I usually do when gaming, it was so fast that any pause would result in a death. And there were very few places to hide since the maps are small. Bf3 in my opinion has the best sized ones of all, they are large enough to Feel large and small enough to feel fast. I can find a corner of solitude still in bf3.. Though I will say there are a few maps I miss.... Harvest day bizarrely, and kubra dam are the 2 that come to mind along with my beloved arica conquest....

Arica Harbor conquest, best bc2 map imo. I'd say the closest bf3 comes to that is grand bazaar (which is actually my favorite bf3 map.)

That's an unfair comparison as the scales of the two map aren't even the same. You can't assume the runway is the same width/length. Nor can you assume roads are the same width. Total bullshit comparison.

    Kinda doubt it.
Seeing as the Carrier is the Same Model from Bf2....

I think that the maps are smaller (too small) in BF3 as well. But I agree, that scale doesn't look right at all.

    Re: Worth getting?

The comparaison seems fair to me.... might even be a bit generous towards caspian...

An easier way to do it would be to see ingame how far away one flag is seen from another one, both in bf3 and bf2, and resize the map while taking this into consideration... Might actually do this once I get a fucking second to breath
