Re: Disappointment Loading Content
:/ lolwut?
You base this off of what again?
And furthermore, how exactly would you verify (or not) if he did buy the DLC? I strongly doubt that TPG will be running that DLC pack/maps because this is exactly the time when expansions/DLC begins to fragment the player base...see 2142 NS and BF2 SF.

Re: Disappointment Loading Content
Well lets just say this... How many times have a I heard from you guys that "Oh we hate dice/ea we aren't going to buy this crap.." and what happens... I see the same dude crying about a game that they think is broke and they play it.... It goes for dlc also.. You guys didn't want to support B2K for population reasons... and well now TPG supports it and not only that but almost every server in Battlelog supports it... servers that don't support it are dead in the water...
So for TPG to not CQB when we really don't know how the maps look... or what they will do... they could be huge like in a city like New york.. theres still more info that has not been released.. so saying nope not going to buy it when just a title came out is well I say childish and stupid... I didn't like the idea of CQB I like an open battlefield but if they did a black hawk down style CQB then I'll be fine with that...
But like I Said TPG not supporting CQB would be a shot to the foot.. and decrease the server population

Wow my exact sentiments. I want to support the developer but when our feedback is ignored/silenced I feel buying the original game is support enough. The only way that I'll buy the DLC is if TPG puts it into rotation and I start getting kicked. I don't think we have to worry about that though.

TPG is not going to support DLC. The ONLY reason we supported B2K was because a vast majority of TPGers already had it. As for the upcoming DLC... the first one doesn't even sound like it's going to support the larger game modes (Rush, Conquest and Conquest64) It sounds like it's more aimed at Squad Rush, Squad Death Match and Team Death Match.

Re: Disappointment Loading Content
Your revisions and omissions are amusing. Cute and amusing. Most of the people that were warning about EA/DICE were doing so for valid reasons. Reasons, I might add, that are entirely accurate at this juncture.
As for people playing the game even though they have, or continue to, complain about it....well put your thinking cap on and follow the ball. Most people who play TPG play TPG because of the other people playing TPG. It's the regs and admins that make this place work. Always have and always will. So in order to play with friends and clanmates who might like BF3 that means you will more than likely wind up playing BF3. Elementary, Watson.
As for B2K, I and several others were concerned about it from a DLC standpoint and worried that saturation among the player base would cause population issues when those maps hit the rotation. Due to DICE saturating the market via PreOrder and Limited Edition bundling, most people have B2K. I can admit when things turn out other than how I envisioned. I have no issues with that.
Little did we know that DICEs own server browser would fuck us though. Which has caused a whole other issue and forced a choice between HC or Vanilla as opposed to the custom configs we were using before. Oh, and in a nod to your comment about "almost every server in Battlelog supports it (B2K) and servers that don't are dead in the water".....if you recall our server that supported B2K was trending to DEAD as well. So it had nothing to do with B2K or not, rather Battlelog and its inability to find its own ass, nevermind servers matching filter criteria.
As for the upcoming DLC. Given that these will (as far as I can tell) require additional purchases I am going to state, again, that I do not think it wise to run those as Battlefield Expansions/DLC purchases on the PC platform have notoriously been bad (read anemic). B2K was successful only because it was given away.
Hell the only reason I have BF3 is that it was a gift from my wife. Otherwise there was a very good possibility that I would have not purchased it. But it was a gift. Several in my clan play it, and 2 of my RL friends play it. So I play it from time to time too as it is the only NEW thing to hold server population in the last year or so.
Your faith in DICE is staggeringly misplaced. If the last 3 years has not shown that to you then I pity your wallet and the ensuing buyer's remorse. Shit, I have buyer's remorse on my wife's behalf. Had she asked me first, I would have kissed her, thanked her, and used the money for dinner instead.
Here I found this for you. Wear it proudly.
