In Game Announcements

I played on a few other servers today and noticed that they produced messages when joining the server and during rounds, much like we did with BF2. The text was large, readable, centered in the bottom third of the screen. I haven't noticed the same on TPG's server ... have I missed it? Is it possible to do this?

Apparently you haven't been naughty. I've seen messages like that on the server when I've been bad. It's a new yell command. Guessing some servers have it tied into an app to send messages on join.

They were advertising their TS channel and website ... thought it might be a good way to get more folks on TS and to the site.

The only bad I am is my shooting ... awful it would seem!

I also came across a server that advertised 6 man squads. It was ranked ... and did appear to have the 6 man squads.

If you aren't in TS, it should be nagging you every couple minutes to join.

Unfortunetly 6-8 man squads are only possible in Squad Deathmatch from what I have researched. SQDM is hardcoded for 4 available squads (alpha, bravo, delta, charlie). If you force the server (through a vars command) to run beyond the SQDM format of 16 players it will allow more players per squad. The catch is, only the top 4 players of the squad are visible on the score screen at any given time. It works well though, whats awesome is you can have 6 different squad perks running at the same time.

I use TS, but the pubs don't know it exists. They aren't watching the tiny chicken scratch ... and without in-game VOIP we can't tell them. I suppose TPG could have an admin assigned with the duty to "GOD" text new people ... not sure what you meant by your reply.

It was a SQDM server I believe and Wicked is correct, it only shows the top four scores for each round ... but if you want to know your score, battlelog will show you your score if you are interested. You still get the awards and ribbons as normal.
