Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
I don't plan to purchase any “DLC” for this game. Sure it has wonderful pictures and "explosions," but if I wanted to play CoD, I'd buy CoD (which I did and tried on-line once .... and never again). As for the DLC ... what on earth do I need a half million more guns / "options" than I already have? Really ... additional maps “may” be interesting … but without VoIP … no
I'll still play BF3 from time to time, but I am also looking for the next game that includes VoIP and demands if not requires teamwork. I'm checking out that tank game and will look at other games too. I will continue playing PR (obviously not with TPG). As for BF2 … we shall see.
I agree with Civil in this thread. While there are now many folks and many reasons to continue gaming with TPG, if it hadn't been a combination of both (especially team play) I wouldn't have stayed. I don’t play much CS or TF2 anymore because it amounts to little more than a frag fest usually with little real “teamwork” as we knew it in BF2, PR, and BF2142. The ONLY thing that makes BF3 tolerable is that TPG has made the effort to pull TS3 together. The ONLY reason I would visit another server would be to satisfy some stupid milestone I might need to get a piece of equipment I might actually use.
DICE is full of crap. In virtually every single player game at least the NPCs will talk to you. Somehow they figured a multiplayer game didn't require any sound except for the sounds of an explosion and a beep and a bullet? Please ....

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
You're right on, until you hit that second sentence.
EA is the the extreme minority as it pertains to slots (and VOIP as well). Every Valve game that I know of has slot support....for the sole purpose of allowing the small communities to host them. It's in the companies best interest....more hosts = more sales = more players. We have the luxury of having other means of income that many don't. It still doesn't make it right that the Valve games, as well as the forums, must support our newest game. I bet CS:GO has slot support (as well as VOIP) on day 1. Don't go thinking that EA is following some new model for the future.....they are basically saying that their next release will be hosted by them...Xbox style....that is if they ever do another PC game.
I vote with my dollars. I have been having a blast with BF3, and the per-hour rate is pennies...and dropping with every connect. That's not the point. Plopping your coin down for the "premium" only encourages more EA bs, and opens the door for them to do it again....and again.....and again. Either I am part of the solution, or I am part of the problem. I'm done being part of the problem.Viktor_Olin liked this post

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
They care about dollars. Giving them money only encourages them to screw us again, and again, and again.
If BC2 had flopped due to lack of VOIP, you can bet your ass that BF3 would have had VOIP......but it didn't. BC2 was a successful seller, so EA had no reason to build it in to BF3. We voted no VOIP with our dollars, and that is all EA hears.
I think what they are doing with the slots is bullshit, and I won't give them one dime in support of it.ninja|oaklandr liked this post

I agree with you on part with the whining and complaining it seems like everytime I come on this forum someone is always talking smack about EA DICE (voip mostly)
This here continues yours and my points we adapted to BF3s short comings and made our own squad voip and it has been highly successful and sure you have those moments when you get frustrated when your squad isn't on but if you just play well and set the example others will follow

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
And heres my theory on why they don't include it.. with the amount of players logging in times on Battlelog.. most players have made people who act immature on battlelog as inferior players... Players who can't adapt or accept change.. You can call it trolling.. Millions on millions of players play BF3 with no VOIP support.. DICE has to go through more steps to prevent.. annoying instances with nuance players .. having a player blast music in there mic while playing on a server and using squad chat and no mute feature you will have a problem..
But my point is.. theres so few players demanding VOIP while the rest of the millions of players playing on PC are staying on the boat.. and playing the game.
