Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
That's because your statistics on who dislikes it and still plays it are skewed methinks, no1. And no2, that many who still play it but dislike it are playing it almost entirely just to play with their friends/clanmates. But yet you seem to relish ignoring those two very real, and imo large, groups of people to make the faulty assumption that the "haters" as you call them "are playing it more than the people who like it..." but \o/
And I, and several in my clan, were anticipating this to be the game that we were promised as well. Something updated and more "BF" than BC was. So many of us bought it and played for a bit. However, it's painfully obvious that DICE has no intentions of developing anything along the lines of BF2/2142 ever again. Different franchise vi$ion$ and stuff. I've not played in months. And the thought of it hasn't excited me enough to login in quite some time.
This, 1000x this. The entire statement is spot, fucking, on.

All I hear is Waaaaa Waaaaa
I don't like this game so i'm going to waste my time and promote my negativity in a community that is suffering due to the negativity.
You don't like what we host, what we play, then why are you here?

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
LOL Whatevers bud....ah the "why are you here" bullshit. That didn't take long. Thanks for bringing it up. Classy.
I've been supporting this community for a long damn time now and I see no reason to stop doing so. But that doesn't mean I have to support games that don't fit what this community was built around or stands for or the ideals that it has. A lot of other games have come and gone through here and those that are gone are gone because they didn't live up to the standards. BF3 represents the first massive community concerted effort to support a game on TPG soil that does not live up to the standard simply because it's popular.
Many of the detractors were avid supporters in the beginning. Some was seriously hopeful that this would be the game that DICE promised for years. It isn't and a lot of goodwill was lost.
But you're totally right it's just people saying "Waaah waaah" and they should all leave TPG.....got it. Do you have any concept of what some of those people who would leave TPG bring to TPG? The loss that would cause in other places or games that we host?
Get over yourself and the constant need to defend a game that not everyone likes or wants to play. To suggest that everyone who's played BF3 but given up on it and DICE should leave TPG to appease YOU is ridiculous to a fault. Hell we'd lose some highs, possibly two of our web admins, several clan leaders, and dozens of mods/admins.....your plan....you're doing it wrong.
But by all means, keep up your disdain for other people's opinions.

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
Look I love BF3 because after bf2 its the next best thing. I hate EA. As I said in another post they are money grubbing backstabbing corporate AHoles. As for this expansion no Im not getting it at the moment. Maybe in the future. Its hurts me to have to give money to EA to expand on a game I enjoy.

Re: CQC...Who's buying and who's not
I'm not defending the game. I'm defending the players who actually enjoy it. I'm actually standing up for those who constantly hear " this game isn't what TPG stands for".
Bashing all those people who enjoy this game isn't what TPG stands for either. That's the problem. You all think it's ok to just go on ranting and raving about how shitty the game is but then you log in and play it and praise that it's "for the community". You say that you support the community by playing the game yet you "disdain" the opinions of the players who actually like the game, in the community forums none the less. It appears as though most of you get off by staining the walls of the existing bf3 community and frankly it's disgusting. How in the world is a new player going to be excited about joining a new community when there is so much negativity and hostility.
I'm not saying that anyone needs to appease anyone here. This is a community and supporting the games and the players in the community should be the number 1 priority. You don't have to like the game, and that's fine, just stop dismissing the fact that a lot of people do.
I'm not saying to become an EA fanboy or Dice fanboy by any means. I just believe, morally, that we should support the community and stop being so negative towards everything that isn't in your opinion the Ideal TPG game.
You want the ideal TPG game then reload bf2 and see where that takes you. You see, people are getting tired of waiting around, so their either moving on, staying stagnant and negative, or adapting to the new breed of fps shooters (While not the best model for teamwork, it's what's available)
You all can complain and wait for that perfect game all you want, but i'm not waiting around, i'm going to hop in the servers and have a good time with the people I enjoy playing with.

06-07-12, 09:47 AM #96Whelp, it was fun, guess I don't belong here anymore since I won't NOM, pun fully intended, the schlong of BF3.
Jk, you can't get rid of me that easy.
War, I see where you are coming from in bringing up the people that still play, and even pay, while bitching. I am just bringing up the point that there are MANY of us bitching that no longer play, and will never pay again.

I'm not knocking anyone for liking the game though. I'm perfectly fine with people liking the game.
My gripe is with comments about waaaaah waaaah and leave the community bs.
I've largely stayed out of most of the BF3 discussion for several weeks because of the level of disappointment I have for it.
But this community has been my home for a long time now and I don't intend on changing that.
