Re: Double XP this weekend
I'm a compulsive consumer and a chump, yes. I bought it and yet I acknowledge Trigger's statement, no matter if it was meant to be ironic and point out the contradictory/hypocritical nature of my position (I do not blame him for it, its totally called for), but I still think nobody should give in as I did (maybe unless they are very likely to enjoy every single DLC DICE will come up with, but still. Encouraging EA/DICE to sell contents we don't know anything about or telling them that giving queue priority to "premium" players (while we still lack of a slot reservation system) is acceptable should be good enough reason not to buy it no matter the quality of each piece of downloadable content).
Thats my opinion. Completely contradictory with my actions, but really, who the fuck cares. I do not have the authority to have any influence on anyone's decision, and in the end it doesnt really matter, really. "Voting with your money" won't change anything. Battlefield has changed, and it sells way more than it ever had. There is no coming back. who cares if you feed EA with all the money you have or if you boycott their games. It wont change anythingLast edited by chray00; 06-19-12 at 02:36 PM.

Re: Double XP this weekend
Please god, not another 'trash BF3/BF Premium' tangent...
meh, I could take it or leave it. But it certainly helps with the amount of hours I've got in the game.
You can, but it'll cost you more (about $20). You also get early access to the add-ons (I think a week or 2 advance of the standard download)
You also get some special camos, a fancy knife, some weapon camo and other 'throw away' stuff. They're going to be doing these things called 'Soldier upgrades' for Premium people that give you aesthetic stuff.
Also, the most hated feature: "Premium Queuing". Premium people get to jump ahead of non-premium users in queues. I hate this because reserved slots still aren't available.

Re: Double XP this weekend
1. Concerning premium outfits and such, that just means you'll make for a prettier corpse.
2. The premium players getting to jump in line and the double XP for premium players only are reasons I won't pay. Where this is going is obvious, 'pay to play'. I will never be down with that program regardless how good the game is.
Edit: Oh and if I want to play with 'premium' weapons, I can just shank you and take yours. Thanks in advance.

Re: Double XP this weekend
Didnt see the announcement, like I usually do. Always thought the emplacement was kind of odd, but I guess its just me.
Thats really great news, I didnt expect that from DICE. I dont think they ever said anything within the lines that they are actively working on it. Maybe all hope is not lost.
but still, the premium queue priority is still pretty lame for those who don't feel like buying a bunch of DLCs they dont know anything aboutLast edited by chray00; 06-19-12 at 06:29 PM.

Re: Double XP this weekend
I assumed it was the job of the developers (either by creating the reservist system or not fucking up code-wise and thus making the creation of said system technically impossible), but I do not own a server nor do I make games/admin tools, I know basically nothing about that kind of stuff. Just what use communities like TPG make of it, and its importance.
