Thread: Steam overlay in BF3

Ok, so I figured out how to get the steam overlay in BF3, but there are a few problems.

You have to add "orgin" as a non-steam game, instead of BF3's executable. Which is fine, ok so I add it. Only thing is, you have to load battle log from Orgin, in order for steam to pick up the game. I tried getting around this by creating a shortcut and going straight to battlelog, and hoping when Orgin opened up when you joined a match, it would then kick in on Steam...this was not the case.

So ok, fine, I have to load orgin. The final problem I found is that when you are done playing BF3, orgin does not close, it stays open, therefore, you are always "in game BF3" according to Steam. So here are my questions.


Has anyone figured out a way around this? Is there a way to make Orgin close when you Close BF3? Is there a way to add a "non steam game" but be a link, as to say, when you click this in steam, it takes you straight to Battlelog, and when BF3 and battlelog is up, you have overlay?
