Is there any way to reduce the amount of info that is on screen during game play?

For example, when I am within a certain distance of the point, the point information shows up in the middle of my screen, making it very difficult to see.

Also, how do you guys cope with all of the information on the screen at once? Maybe I'm just crazy, but I've team killed too many people because they had a red dot above their head, but really it was an enemy that was spotted on a different spot on the map behind them. Conversely, I've ran by enemies who I thought were teammates because of a blue dot on someone behind them on some other point on the map.

Basically I'm looking for a way to only have to see where teammates are when I can actually see them in my line of sight. Not have to see their dots/locators through buildings, etc...

None of this applies to the mini map/radar. I'm just talking about my first person view.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done. After all this time I still have problems with the "is that a friendly or enemy" thing.

Well at least I'm not the only one I guess. People pick me apart in the middle of their teammates like it's nobody's business. Not sure how they do it.

Unfortunately, this is a huge issue for me on large servers and servers that have friendly fire, both of which are staples on the TPG server.

Not sure who the guy narrating is is, but the commands to get your in game screen to look like his are in the description.

For those who aren't interested in the video, here is the way you do it:

HUD REMOVAL TWEAK

- Open E:\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings/PROF_SAVE_profile with WordPad

- Edit GstRender.ScreenSafeAreaHeight and GstRender.ScreenSafeAreaWidth to 2.000000

(to remove, just edit the numbers back to 0.910000 or whatever yours were)

This will eliminate the chat box, the mini map, etc... and just leave up blue/green and red dots, along with objectives. Ideally, I'd like to keep my mini map, but I'm gonna try this out and see how I like it. Sometimes I get so caught up in my map, that I'm not focusing on what's really in front of me on screen, so this may just be better for me personally.

ETA: I think you can disable the hud completely by entering "UI.DrawEnable 0" (no quotes) into the console.
