No we kick and ban people for using Global VOIP... Global VOIP is to where EVERYBODY on the server can hear it - and 99.9% of the time it's grievers and douchebags spamming the mic and being asshats.
Global = everybody on the server can hear it.
Side = everybody on your team can hear it.
Group = everybody in your squad can hear it.
Direct = anybody within 10-20m can hear you, regardless of what team you are on. Kind of like overhearing somebodies comms AKA eavesdropping.
Vehicle = anybody in your vehicle can hear you.

I'm actually in talks with JoSchaap and AgentRev about the ability to limit Global VOIP AKA VoN to just admins who are listed in the admin.sqf - this way nobody else can use it except admins. This way admins can warn players, etc..

I think not being able to tell another squad, "hey there are guys that way" is good. The commander should be doing that stuff and coordinating with the Squad Leaders.

Well you have a direct line to the commander. Why can't he convey the correct info to the squads? I just got a sudden realization! My god you know how much team play you need to pull that off. It's back people. The team play is back!

In a perfect world the squad members talk to each other, the squad leader relays information to the commander, who then relays that information to other squads. Once again this is a perfect world and imo it would be perfect. I love the aspect that only squad leader can talk to commander. So much responsibility is then put on that player, because they SHOULD take it seriously and communicate with the commander when they need help or have useful information for other squads. Also the good Commanders will be able to play 'God' and play the match like a chess game; moving squads around.
Hopefully this will be possible and we will have enough teamplayers to do this. That is something I wanted to start to discuss now that the game is close to release, but I don't know if that is a public discussion or a admin one. (Enforcement of Teamplay: Squads listening to Commanders, Squads listening to squadleaders, etc, etc. Basically I'm guessing BF2 was a little more strict then BF3 and VOIP played a big role in that. But I am assuming VOIP will be in-game like they said.)
