Ed Zachary. We see this already in ARMA3. (Hopefully they allow servers to limit VOIP to selected channels in the release.)

We can force people into squads now, and will likely be able to do so in BF4 if they carry forward the rcon protocol from BF3...

1) This is from an alpha build... not the final release... Lots can change from alpha to beta to release...
2) There is no evidence that it WORKS (see BC2 for example)

Oh Wile you crack me up :P. As just a question out of curiosity what will you say to knock the new VOIP once you see it in action and it works and sounds fine? Admit it it only keeps getting better.

Right now, my opinion is and will remain "I'll believe it when I see it in the RELEASE." It's definitely encouraging to see things heading that way; however the last 2 BF releases have taught me to not take ANYTHING for granted when it comes to EA/DICE. If it launches with a fully functional VOIP then my reaction will be "It's about damn time!"

Even then it isn't a guarantee. BC2 had a working VoIP on release but they broke it with an update.

It never worked. It was broken in the open beta. It remained broken at release. It would work for some period of time, until someone disconnected from the server, and then it'd go away. They never put any effort into fixing it.
