Balancing thought.
Had an idea about balancing teams. Besides balancing based on number of players on the team, how about we only balance based on TS numbers on each side? I feel like that would help more than anything else to keep teams balanced in skill. So if there are 6 TS guys on Team 1 and only 2 guys on Team 2, and tickets are way off at the end of the round, why not balance the TS guys first?
Wasn't going to bring this up at first since I don't think BF3 has more than 3 months left to live, but Alundil brought up a good point of "What if VOIP in BF4 isn't what we hope it will be?" So here it is.
I'd be happy to take a crack at it if I can get the source to the TS3 plug-in.

The problem is... there are multiple plug-ins at play and you'd have to figure out a way to make them all talk to each other. Balancing/Scrambling is handled by one. TS automation is handled by another... To be honest though, I've not really seen any evidence that TS participants have a direct correlation to the success/failure of a team. I've seen a team full of TSers get rolled by a team full of people not on TS. We saw the same thing in BF2/2142. A team full of regs getting rolled by a team of pubbers... same concept.

Its not supposed to be a magic bullet, I'd consider your scenarios to be edge cases. Its supposed to help make sure the amount of people we know of actively trying to work together stays even on both sides and hopefully it helps to make better games for the regulars. I don't really care about the people not in TS.

Well first in my scenario by balancing the regs who are on TS, you wouldn't have the issue of most TS on one side and pubbers on the other to roll. The only times I really notice an issue is when we get large groups of people in the same clan joining and rolling us for the trolls.
Second its also in hopes of keeping the regulars happy because they have people to communicate with. It sucks getting put on the team with no TS guys when there are 4 TS guys on the other team.

Re: Balancing thought.
Sometimes there's one person on the opposing team who switches to the team who has the teamspeak players. If it starts like this with 3 ppl in ts on one team it's going to escalate until it's 5 teamspeak players versus 0 teamspeak players, it's a never ending cycle. Like you said though... I've seen a team full of ts'ers get steamrolled by a team with no one on ts..

Re: Balancing thought.
Sigh I hope bf4 comes with voip sorted so we can go back to simpler "teamstacking" threads
