    Re: Practice Range!?

Why should anyone be able to get into a Jet and instantly change the battlefield? That's just plain stupid. If I wanted to play a game with that kind of mentality I'd go play Call of Duty. I don't think flying is supposed to be easy and it's not supposed to be for everyone. That's what makes this game so great. Some people are good with heavy armor, some good with helicopters/jets, and some are straight infantry players.

That being said I've still seen pilots make a huge difference in the outcome of the battle. Imo jet play is pretty balanced. If you have two good pilots facing each other in a map they are most likely going to be kept busy by trying to shoot the other down. If you don't have that opposite pilot constantly nagging the other, then the one pilot pretty much has free reign to affect the battlefield...especially when that pilot is skilled.

It's the same with any engagement. Some people may say tanks are over powered when facing MajorBrass...well no, he is just that fucking good in a tank and he has teammates who are smart enough to keep him safe. Jets can inflict the same amount of damage with a skilled player and a team that is conscious of the other air vehicles.

Battlefield 4 will include a practice range for learning to fly helicopters and jets | News | PC Gamer

Planetside 2 has what they call VR training and it does help. I like the target range it has pop up targets that may be friend or enemy and armor , aircraft targets as well.

Bad thing is that the slow moving ,ceiling limit of 200m jets are back to BF4.I have not bothered getting in them and most of the times i still played this game they were standing empty in the spawn base.

Jets were not lethal in BF3, they were as close as usseles and i can count the times i been killed by one on the fingers of one hand.
BF2 jets on the other hand well that is a different story.

Not trying to flamebait no one here ,i am just stating my opinion of the current BF franchise(which is shit btw).
i might pick u BF4 from the budget bin,but so far i am not convinced.
I agree and disagree. The dumb bombs if they were in bf3 would make jets worthy, the spotting system was broken in hc. I hated air power in bf2, it was the worst part of the game. Now add handheld aa to bf2 and the air would've been less powerful.

I never SAAW this coming, EA/Dice.

I like this. Hoepfully it'll mean that I can train up in choppers. I used to be king in the Transport in 2142, and I wasn't terrible in the Gunship.

In my opinion, Aircraft in 2142 is the best rendition of Aircraft in a Battlefield game. One of the main reasons why I didn't play BF2 so much was because I felt like the Aircraft were OP. In 2142, the Gunships were powerful enough to take out anything on the battlefield in one fell swoop, but squishy enough that the Lock-On warning was enough to make them leave the area fast. With the stationary AAs EMP secondary fire, and the SAAW, AA was very effective at keeping them out of the area.
