1. Get rid of spawn protection. Thank god they got rid of revive protection, but it's complete lunacy that someone can spawn on their squad leader in the middle of a heated firefight and just sit there and soak up bullets, then turn on you and kill you while you're reloading. If you spawn in a hot area, you deserve to get killed right away.
2. Orders. I hate the orders system. Not only do you have to be alive, the order issuing function doesn't even work half of the time. When I'm dead, I also want to be able to set down a new defend/attack/move marker so my squad isn't left hanging while I re-assess the battlefield. This is something the first two Battlefields had that was so simple yet so effective.
3. Damage inconsistency. I'm convinced the game reduces the accuracy of damage calculations when the player population is high, because I have died at point blank to someone who I left at 1% health. The only weapons capable of leaving someone at 1% are the MP7, P90, and AS VAL, but they deal 20 (out of 60) health per hit at 10 meters. So many idiotic situations that could have been avoided.
4. The Heavy Barrel. I've heard that the HBAR isn't in Battlefield 4 and I'm so thankful for it. To compensate, they should increase the base accuracy of the weapons slightly, as the Carbines are useless in their stock configuration for anything beyond 20 meters. My problem with the current HBAR is that it quadruples your base accuracy, while suppression only halves your base accuracy. Suppression, therefore, is meaningless to someone who has a heavy barreled weapon, with only the slight tradeoff of higher recoil, which is easily compensated for.
5. Map design. BF3 has some decent maps like Caspian Border where backcapping is a viable, and oftentimes effective tactic. Then there's maps like Metro and Damavand, where backcapping is either impossible or requires blind luck. Yes, there should be choke points on maps, but the entire map should not be a chokepoint. I remember in the early days of BF3 that a lot of people commented that if an above ground portion of Metro was added, it would be a great map.
In addition, there should not be out-of-bounds areas at all. The key to taking a point is flanking, but when all the good flanking positions are out of bounds there's not a lot of room for finesse. And lastly, let's use Operation Firestorm as an example: spread those bases out. Sure Op. Firestorm is the "largest" map, but it's also the most empty map. Either spread out the bases, or fill the map and add more bases. If you want a vehicle friendly map, give them room to do their job. Give tanks enfilade positions so hull-down can be used. There should also be avenues of fast attack, such as those found on Highway Tampa. You can either take the open roads and be quick, or take the hilly outsides and be slow but safe.

as others said, the ability to place orders markers anywhere on the map.
in addition, screen clean-up. there is just too much shat on the screen ay any given time. with the compact, linear nature of the maps, it usually ends up as practically a blue/red line/blob on my screen. either give the ability to turn it off, the ability to adjust the opacity/range, and/or simply have it coded with better scaled opacity/range. I don't need to see 30 blue triangles that are more than 30m away, fade that chit out...or a big A with a circle around it nearly in the center of my screen when I'm capping, "sticky" it to the top of the flag pole or move it to the top of my screen. Oh, and move all enemy "spots" to the mini-maps, that's half cheating otherwise.
I think its already being (re)implemented, but shift back to magazines instead of ammo pools.
and of course wishful thinking: "major" kills such headshots and knife kills should not be revive-able, and taking a tank shell to the chest, etc. and some sort of revive limit, ie, only X amount of revives every Y number of minutes per respawn.
(haven't played bf3 in a while, so if they addressed the screen clutter then disregard )maximusboomus liked this post

You bring up my pet peeve - head shots should be no revive for sure (also direct explosive hits too).
I'd love to see a "real" damage system... Shoot an enemy in the arm - they would loose accuracy, legs to slow, head shot to pop them... Would love to see gore ramped up for hilarity....

In the various alpha footage I've seen, the screen clutter is worse, not better; however in one of the interviews there was talk of being able to customize your HUD. Remove/move pieces around on your screen and such. A lot of the competitive gamers have lobbied to move the minimap to the lower bottom of the screen so it's more in the center of your vision rather than on the periphery.

It is ...sadly. I don't know what were they thinking by adding that bar on the bottom, like everybody is blind so they can not see the huge circle on the midlle of the fucking screen.
Oh and by the way i don't like that ammount of points just from capping one flag and a kill assist,to achive that ammount of points in BF2 you would have to play three rounds or more.
But i think the targeted audiance love to have their screen filled up with rewards, medals and usseles unlocks that nobody else care for.
Being a hardcore Battlefield 2 fan i don't like the current direction that the franchise is going.Last edited by Kill8ox; 09-11-13 at 07:38 AM.

I love to see the anti vehicle spread out. Kind of like in bc2 where any class could get c4... In bf3 it always felt like I had the wrong anti vehicle for the active fight... I'd spawn with aa... Get rolled by tanks... Spawn with ag... Get rolled by planes. Even then though the damn flares on vehicles made it so you'd have to have two people gunning for the same enemy vehicle to kill em... Am I the only one that felt like this? And if it was a ground vehicle with a butt-buddy repair men... or two... Forget about killing it with rockets...
Idk.. Whenever I go engie it just always feels like a waste unless I'm someone's butt buddy... Err repair slut... Class just needs... More... Especially for the infantry only maps...
Would like to see bullet penetration as well

Bullet penetration..... Yes
And yeah the flares, chaff whatever is/was op in BF3/BC2. Between the too short cool down on both (vehicle cool down is shorter than infantry time to reload and re-lock) and the ridiculous "my jet is faster than your missile". Really..... jet faster than a missile.
