Anyone who pre-orders it or buys it so soon is part of the problem. I made the same mistake for bf3,CoH2 and Rome II and I'm not doing it again.

installed... and ready to play. Why does the orange play button tease me so?

(~20 minutes to download and install 24GB game... damn I love comcast internet...)

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

It's only a problem if you want to look at it like that. I played beta and it was well worth the 3 day early pre-order.

I made some mistakes with previous games as well. I made the decision to preorder based on my experience with the beta and old friends from the TTP ancestry of this place being present and intending to play.

What will be the deciding factor for you to buy it? If waiting to see what they deliver, perhaps you should be relieved that others are buying it, so you have some good indicators from trusted sources?

A late reply, I know, but I haven't payed much attention to this thread since actually buying.

20.5 MB/s? I live just outside of Denver and have Comcast and the fastest speed I get is 2.4MB/s. I'd pay a fortune to have that kind of download speed.

I was seeing 16-18MB/sec. And I do pay a fortune.

Speaking only for myself, I will not be purchasing BF4 until it has been out a few days and stays fully functional (i.e., VOIP doesn't slowly fade into oblivion). I was burned twice by EA (BF: BC2 and BF3) and will never forgive myself if I fall for their empty promises a third time.

By the way, I really hope they keep their promises this time.

This is me too. As I have said all along I hope everything they promise comes true, but I won't be spending my money until those promises are indeed truths.

Perhaps the best thing we can do for late adapters is to have a postcard thread that accurately documents the good, bad, and ugly. I was hesitant, but the beta experience swayed me.
