AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core 3.30 GHz
Before the patch today I was having crazy stuttering, lag, and averaging 20 FPS(Auto Settings-High & Ultra).
Just hopped on right now and it ran beautifully. Same auto settings, but now averaging 60 FPS and above with very little to no stuttering or lag. And I was just about to go upgrade my rig....NOT! Feel bad for the people who have upgraded who didn't even need to.

Fuck Windows 8.1! This has been the worst Windows installation experience since the release of Vista. Poor driver support, I had to flash my BIOS in order to update to the new Intel Rapid Storage controller for my RAID array to work. Then the fucking array wouldn't be read anyways. Luckily it was just games.
I tried upgrading to 8 yesterday, and it failed. I am on my 3rd installation of 8.1 now as the first one wouldn't load the OS after the BIOS update, and this one got some random boot error. I might go back to 7 because at very least, it fucking worked.
If you are on the fence... I suggest waiting unless you are having to buy a new OS. 7 is fine.

The irony for me is that before the 4 and 6 core optimizations, I was getting a fairly good framerate when looking out over the peninsula. Now, my framerate tanks when I look out over the peninsula. I've had to lower some shadow settings to compensate.
I have a 4670K for the record."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

After the third try, I got everything going good and running classic shell. It was a bitch getting the RAID setup. Probably time I just bite the bullet and get a dedicated RAID controller card.

Re: Your Specs, Settings and FPS
Just upgraded Win7 to Win8.... Also using startisback application to get it back to windows 7 looking. My frame rate used to be avg 50ish with some drops into 40s and rarely into high 30s. This was on combo of high and medium settings with mesh on ultra. Now I'm avg high 80s and not rare be over 100 with lowest drop of mid 50s but rare. No stuttering at all and couldn't be happier.
