10-11-13, 12:11 PM #1Reason to get Premium?
Are there reasons to get Premium like with BF2/2142 where you would get cool weapons? I realize we will probably stick to stock maps on the server, so I'm wondering if I would get any benefit out of shelling out the extra cash for premium. I don't intend to play on scrub servers so...
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Premium grants you all the expansion packs to the game. It must be purchased IN ADDITION to the main game. Don't bother with the 'Digital Deluxe' edition of BF4 since all that gets you is the first expansion free if you're going to buy Premium. You get things like dog tags and different camos and such with Premium, but no different weapons.

Will TPG ever host those expansion maps (like on a one weekend/month type deal)? Or, am I better off not buying Premium? If all I'm getting are maps that I'll never play on and some cosmetics that seem meh...

Re: Reason to get Premium?
Correct me if Im wrong but I believe you said that in the long run you would only be saving about $10-$15 in BF3 if you bought the package compared to buying the DLCs separately. If the same is true for BF4, I dont see the benefit of buying the package. I would rather wait for each DLC to come out and determine if Im going to get it or not.

Re: Reason to get Premium?
We certainly hope to.
It depends on how the game treats those without the maps. You'll remember BF2 (Highway Tampa) and 2142 (the NS Pack), one could play until a map came up that they didn't have, and would then be disconnected. The way BF3 does it, is if a player doesn't have every single map in the rotation, they can't join the server at all. Truly puts the old cock block on including maps other than the stock vanilla.

You also get some bonuses like double-XP weekends and such that are only available to premium members. Early on that could prove to be pretty important to unlocking essential unlocks and weapons. I can't imagine they won't run a double XP weekend early on after launch. In BF3... there was really only 1 DLC pack that truly sucked... the rest were at least somewhat enjoyable to me.
