All of the above. I miss the big ass maps, the kind that take 20 minutes to walk across. The maps in BF3/BF4 would need to be ten times bigger to accomplish the same scale as BF2. Flags that were so far apart in BF2 made quick response/attack critical: having 4 FAVs in spawn meant you could have 4 squads appearing in 4 different critical places on the map in seconds, rather than taking a tank or walking there. That speed dimension is lost in every game since BF2.

Placing attack/defend smokes on any point on the map. You got a squad of infantry coming through some woods on Daqing Oilfields? Put a marker on 'em and send in the SU34 .... squad wipe. This was issued by commander to SL, SL to SM. Such a simple tool whose use could elevate teamwork when employed by the right team/squad. The game can only be as good as the tools provided. A master craftsman can't build a palace with a toothpick. What the fuck, it's so plain to see and is really disappointing it's gone.

I refuse to be limited to 3 when every other game is missing all of it.

as I think others have shown, it's tough to choose. I think my favorite though was that unlocking things took forever. People were focused on the map at hand as opposed to, I need 10 more kills with my shotgun to get the sight, etc. Now that being said, I do like the unlock system of BF3/BF4 and that there's always something cool/new to work towards...I guess I just miss the simplicity that BF2 had

SRAW'ing attacking choppers & armor non scoped, free aim guidance.

I gotta say if there was no unlimited sprint in BF3 or 4 the maps would feel big and need to rely on teamplay generosity from example to help other players that need a ride to get somewhere.

There are still many noobs in BF2 who assault a flag by themselves in an APC rather than think and pick up any stragglers to help accomplish an objective that will result in completion.

Or them selfish snipers that take the only available vehicle so he can set up shop in his roost!

BF4 better not SUCK! ...the beta was fun! The most fun I remember is really from VOIP and squadding up with friends!

Other: Limited sprint. It just balanced things as well as adding strategy to the simple act of moving...

I picked all of them, couldn't decided. Although I have to say bf2 had a better "feel" to it. Bf3/bf4 feel more like an average FPS. Much more intense and in your face. Bf2 was much slower paced and almost felt organic. Not sure if that the right word. That's not to say bf2 never had intense moments of its own, but bf3/bf4 feel much more video gamey despite be much more graphically impressive. It felt like it trying to shove the experience down your throat will in bf2 it always felt like we were in charge of our own destiny a bit more, whether raiding the airfields or doing that good ol LAV drop to sneak to the rear of Karkand. Compare to shit in bf4 like the skyscraper collapse, ya it looks cool for the first time buts it scripted and obliviously meant to to happen, its a 10 times less exciting than racing FAV's on Jalalabad
