Do you have premium?

In order to determine whether we are going to host Premium content on our BF4 servers, I wanted to throw this poll out there to gauge interest.

I actually bought premium by accident when I thought it was the game. When I realized my origin account wasnt actualizing the game in then I figured out I had to actually buy the "game" game.

Do we know yet how premium maps will affect the server? For example if I do not have premium can I play on the server when non-premium maps are on, but get kicked when premium maps come up, a la 2142, or will I not be able to join at all if premium maps are in the rotation and I don't have it?

You should be able to connect to the server when non-DLC maps are on. It will warn you about the server hosting premium content, but it will connect you if you click OK.

I don't have Premium and even should TPG host expansions, I will not be getting Premium. I may buy certain expansions that I want, but it's a matter of principle not getting Premium. EA/DICE have redeemed themselves fairly well, but Premium is still their cash cow.

For bf3, premium made so much content available so quickly that I was overwhelmed, I didn't really do any assignments, I didn't try to unlock everything, I didn't play a lot of the new maps. I do want to get premium, but I think I'll hold off for another month or so and try to do all or most of the vanilla stuff first.

There's a lot more to it than the unlocks, assignments, etc. Premium includes ALL the DLC packs (5 planned for BF4), the first of which is coming in the next week or two and the second of which will be out before year's end. All that crap is more periphery than the new maps being brought in with the DLC packs.
