DICE on netcode
It seems to me they know there are problems but they seem to just glace at the most important one in my opinion which is tickrate and say "meh we will see what we can do about it later".

Re: DICE on netcode
That's because tickrate above what it currently doesn't really help much. Especially considering all the other things they are looking to fix first that are either bugs or wrongly done designs in their system.

Re: DICE on netcode
I honestly prefer playing bf3 for gunplay. The netcode was brutal in that game but I never felt cheated. Bf4 feels slow and laggy compared to bf3... At this point I'm tired of not getting kills due to bullets disappearing, I know going face to face with Allane I stand no chance, even if I get the drop mainly because he's so fast by the time I sink 6 dmr shots into his chest he kills me with a 1 shot. I should record how badly I get cheated to show you guys... But I know it's nothing new...

Re: DICE on netcode
Having 100+ ping most of the time like you and I do will never allow it to be even with someone of equal skill and much lower latency. Yet, we both did have equally as bad ping in BF3 and you seemed to do much better. I did worse in BF3 but my skill was much lower.
The odd part is your system seems to be more sensitive to this than mine, even with me having a higher ping. I definitely noticed it the last time I played on your rig.“One of the most difficult tasks men can perform, however much others may despise it, is the invention of good games.” ― C.G. Jung

Re: DICE on netcode
I get this all the time,
The second icon, at the bottom, shows four squares that indicate packet loss. When you see this icon, your connection to the server is experiencing lost packets, which means that information is failing to reach its destination, either when your game client sends it to the server or when the server sends the information to you. Please keep in mind that packets always get lost on the Internet and that you should not be alarmed if you’re seeing this icon blinking once or twice. If you have a large amount of packet loss and see the icon often, you will probably experience game “hiccups” sometimes – action will stop for a moment, then speed ahead to catch up.
Yet I don't see this "hiccup" they are speaking of.“One of the most difficult tasks men can perform, however much others may despise it, is the invention of good games.” ― C.G. Jung

Re: DICE on netcode
I play regularly on a UK server and never have the issues you guys mention.

DICE on netcode
With what type of connection? Max and I are both on point-to-point wireless, unable to get hard lines to our homes. The ping registered in game doesn't always show all the latency issues we are having.
Not complaining mind you, just explaining. I choose to live in the middle of nowhere and there is downsides to the quiet and beauty.
I actually don't find it as bad as him, I love playing despite how much I die. I could care a less about my score, Max can be a bit more competitiveLast edited by CleverGeek; 03-03-14 at 04:39 PM.
