Re: Riot Shields in Dragons Teeth DLC
CS isn't a real game? Interesting theory, considering every version of CS has been hugely popular and played by tens of thousands of people worldwide.
My point that you so sorely missed, is that if they implement shields the way Valve did...it will fail.
If the shields block anything more than pistol fire, they will be overpowered.

It probably wouldn't work for a game like this, but Chivalry had a pretty good setup with the giant tower shields. Basically you had a stamina bar that would deplete as you held it up/blocked powerful attacks. Once the meter got empty the shield would drop and you would have to wait until you had enough energy to raise it back up again. So to counter it, you'd either need to flank the guy with the shield or get a few guys to just wail on him until the shield went down. It actually provided a good bit of teamplay, the shield-guys could protect spear and archer guys by standing between them and enemies, but the archers and spears would also need to keep the shield guy from getting overwhelmed or everyone would die
As I said, probably wouldn't make much sense in BF4, but an interesting mechanic nonetheless
