    Then there's only one explanation left:

    That the "shield" for the carrier goes down too quickly. There's a quick gang-bang for control points, then both teams rush as quickly as possible to the other team's carrier. Therefore, not only is there too little fighting among control points to generate points, it speeds up the process of ending the match as quickly as possible.

    This is the length of an average Carrier Assault: Battle Report - Battlelog / Battlefield 4
    At 13 minutes.

    This is the length of an average Conquest Large: Battle Report - Battlelog / Battlefield 4
    At 35 minutes.

    Basically, Carrier Assault is far too fast and so it generates artificially deflated amounts of points. In the eyes of someone who isn't aware of this, it seems like a low-scoring mode, and so people ignore it.
