It's not just "going back", most likely it's being restarted by the admins. Usually, they will either use the Yell (the big message across the middle of your screen) or at least in the scrolling messages to announce a restart, and help re-populate.
There's something wrong with the DT maps, or at least having them all back-to-back. I think it's causing the server to rubberband after they are done, and the server loads up the other maps. Since the DT maps came out, we have had a static rotation to allow us to have all of the DT maps up front. Usually, the rotation is created every morning at random, at the server restart. I'm hoping that mixing them in will help, but really don't want to do so, so that those who don't have it can play on our server, at least some of the time.
Are yoos guys noticing massive lag after the DT maps cycle through? I know that I had to restart the server at least twice last weekend, and I wasn't the only one. Both times were immediately following the DT maps.

Yes when the rotation was DT Zavod 311, Dragon Pass, Caspian Border, Rogue Transmission, it would start rubberbanding on Zavod or Dragon Pass then get unplayable on Caspian Border. But this only happened a few times, I think when it was primed early and the rotation had gone through more than once (since after the restart it would run through the rotation fine again).

Right now it's not. We have been restarting from the top of the map list for the last 2 weeks. If it's showing a different map right now, chances are that someone will set it back to the beginning of the rotation(DT Maps), unless of course you guys want to play the random rotation again.

Just to be clear.....
ALL of the maps are on the server. They are all in the rotation. The first 8 maps are all DT (both modes....chain link and cq). After the 8 DT maps, the rest follow. If you played all older maps, that means that the server was never restarted after the DT maps were done. When the server restarts (which is done by an admin, usually due to extreme lag), it starts at the top of the order.
On a normal day, the rotation is randomized at server restart. WE CURRENTLY HAVE THIS FUNCTION DISABLED TO ALLOW THE DT MAPS TO STAY AT THE TOP OF THE ORDER. Once the DT maps are available to all, or a general consensus is reached among the regs and admins, we can easily enable the map scrambler, and they6 will mix in with the rest of the maps. Once done, a new rotation will be created every morning when the server does its auto restart.
What I (we) would really be interested in is when the lag occurs. Last weekend, when I was on, it started with the first map after the DT maps. The lag became so unplayable, that restarts and repriming were the only solutions. I'd like to know if it is some memory leak (like the Naval maps) that is affecting the server after some time, or if it is a case of some corrupted maps, and we need to reload them.[CoFR]SirMoo liked this post
