I know what you mean. Even though it lacked many of the quintessential traits of a true battlefield game, I still had a great time with it for the 2 years before BF4.
I remember the night it was released. Teamspeak was full of TPGers who had gotten the game on pre-order, we were all waiting for the game to officially launch. Me and Toker hopped into a squad together and the first map was the market. The carnage was insane - the first giant stalemate at B in the alleyway of death was fantastic.
Towards the end, they really hit their stride with the maps - Aftermath and End Game had some crazy good maps that I wish I would have gotten to play more of. I was busty with school and work for a while but it got to a point where they were releasing content faster than I could play it. Sometime after CQ, they introduced Premium. Even though it was divisive in nature, and would work against TPG regulars when we decided to host them, it was an inevitable change.

You guys are killing me. Bf4 is bf3 with voip and a ton more flashy shit. Bf3 was a more enjoyable game for me personally. I'd definitely do a throw back bf3 night and raid a server. I'll do that Thursday, if anyone wants to join let me know and I'll get you setup in mumble.

Cool video.
BF3 is what really revived a good half of TPG. BF3 brought all sorts of veterans out of the woodwork and back into the game making TPG great again. Sure we had to work around the terrible in-game implementation of VOIP, but the after-the-round banter was always comedy gold (something that I sorely miss now in BF4).
But as far as the game itself goes, BF3 has some good maps, but BF4's implementation of everything else feels superior to me. I miss some of the weapon variety BF3 had, but we're still two DLCs away from max weapon limit. To me, BF3 is sufficiently buried and its grave should stay undisturbed, but respected."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Lmao how majestic. Didn't BF3 also bring us this little gem as well?

I miss some of the maps and the TS banter between rounds. It made it more social. Now with BF4 there is some interaction but not like it used to be. We had so much fun after a close game in the BF3 TS lobby. I miss that the most not particularly the game itself.

If they ported over all of bf3 maps, simple port over no l'évolution I'd happily accept that. Bf4 plays worse than bf3.bf3 could aggravate the snot outta me, but ultimately the Gameplay was better and maps were better too. Too many nooks and crannies to get sniped from now.
