So, Battlefield 4 maps are often a clusterfuck of squads doing whatever they want going wherever they want, oftentimes accumulating into a vast zerg.
Bad Company 2 did something USEFUL in one of its later patches, where it put a number above the 3D icon for each flag for squad leaders. If the flag had a x1 on it, it meant some other squad has already assigned that flag as their objective. If it had no number, no one was deliberately going for it. If there was a x2, it meant you should REALLY pick another flag. This saved me, as a squad leader, SO MUCH TROUBLE, since I could weed out the flags that another squad was already trying to handle, as well as know when I need to assist a flag that is holding back one of our squads.
Battlefields 3 and 4, in the infinite wisdom of DICE, decided that that function wasn't useful and we haven't seen it since."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

hmmm ... I like the concept ... if only we had a commander to do this ...
Of course, I'm being sarcastic. I agree with you Allane. It is clear to me and many other that team play and effective communication are not things that DICE takes seriously as a key feature of BF.My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.
