07-20-15, 11:01 AM #1RIP Origin
I know this applies to more than BF4, but wasn't sure where it better fit on the forums. Feel free to move it.
Got this in my email today:
"In the coming weeks your Origin Account will be renamed to an EA Account to better represent all of EA's games and services. Your account identity, preferences, and order history will remain unchanged."
Forgive me if I feel that it is the same shitty product with a new name.

Re: RIP Origin
yeah I wonder if they are just going to rebrand the exe or if they are planning on making us use another client entirely... and they best not take any of our games. That wouldn't be something I would put past EA. "I'm sorry but with the new EA account you will need to repurchase all games you had on your old Origin account."

Re: RIP Origin
That's because it is. Although calling Origin shit the now is probably just a hold over when it was. Right now even if Origin fucks something up you need only contact their help desk where you can contact a real person and they will fix it and if you are that pissed or something goes wrong they will give you refunds or other compensation. That's something steam doest have.

Re: RIP Origin
Oh dont get me wrong there are still a lot of things Origin doesn't have that steam does mainly the shit community tabs and even calling them that is a stretch since its actually just a profile page with their name and games they own on it. No modding support via something like steam workshop, no unlimited friends list, no green light or indie outreach programs, no groups or clan features, and they are shut out on selling games sometimes by other devs. However Origin itself whether it be from its simplicity has not completely and utterly failed since BF3 for me.
