Summer patch, tickrate
I've been waiting for that one for a while, hoping to see the arrival of the option for higher tickrate servers, although reading the patch note, I am somewhat confused.
[ALL PLATFORMS] Game - Forums - Battlelog / Battlefield 4
"• Updated server & client code to support variable tick/simulation rates (featured)
• Added indicators for current server “tick rate”/simulation rate on loading screen (>30hz only) and deploy screen "
It seems to imply that indeed, we are no longer limited to terrible 30hz servers. However, if DICE actually did commit to implement CTE's 60 and 120hz servers, I assumed it would have been an option, up to server owners to decide what to pay for, since higher tickrate servers take more physical space and thus are more costly to rent. So what is going on? Do owners have any option (if so, are we limited to 60hz or 120hz is also an option?)? Are we with universal "variable tickrate servers" across the board for all servers? Did the pricing change at all? If not, I would have my doubt on how better the new servers are.

Re: Summer patch, tickrate
Yeh, seems like they touched shotgun a little too late in development. Some of the changes were made and implement in CTE last week
Battlelog / Battlefield 4
"Reduced damage of buckshot and flechette to lower performance at range
Reduced number of pellets of uts, saiga, dao, dbv, m1014 to improve balance"
Oh well, next patch, I guess.

Re: Summer patch, tickrate
I'll give you Dragon Pass, but it doesn't in any way remind me of the BF2 version (which is neither a positive or a negative). It's also the minority. Oman and Karkand have both been brutalized to the point of destruction.
I'm all-for bringing back some BF2 maps, but only if they do them justice. Don't cut whole sections out, and make the uncaps raidable, and they would likely see the most popular BF4 maps.....by far. They could also do the same for some 2142 maps (which would also be quite bad ass).
