I've never hacked, nor have I ever known anyone who does. Anyone that looks at the hours I've played, and the low scores I put up game after game, knows this which leads me to my question.
What I cannot for the life of me understand is why people hack. What does the hacker gain? Is it a sense of power because their cheat got them the top score? Power because they beat the system so to speak? Do they hack because without the cheat they play as badly as I do or do they enjoy pissing people off who know they're hacking but can't prove it? I read the Problem Player thread where someone mentioned a player going 100 kills and 3 deaths. Where is the challenge in that?
I guess I just don't get it. Sometimes I think integrity and fair play has gone the way of the dinosaur

People have been cheating in droves for ages. The games may change, but that won't.
Some for the lawlz -- Think speed hacking pyros in TF2
Some for the feeling of power over others as far as KDA can do that
Some are ones who looked for a slight edge and it gets out of control. They can't stop. Think the wall hacking types that require loads of demos to catch.
Regardless, I liked collecting their tags in 2142.dex71 liked this post
