Re: BF1
With the last few rounds of updates the game is still buggy or hangs for no reason. Still have issues when quitting between rounds and either have to force quit or wait till the spinning wheel goes away.
Within the game it seems to have improved a bit.
Anyone run into those issues? I know Bohpat has vid card / direct-x issues with it.Packetshooter

Re: BF1
what packet said. most of my issues seem to be video related, with the patch making things worse, introducing a flicker, particularly with the game text where it flickers and random characters randomly drop.
Most crashes would give some sort of "GetDeviceRemoved..." pop-up, where the game has to be killed from the task manager (actually all my crashes have needed a BF1 kill from the task manager). Origin also crashes at the same time...why the genius in implementing/requiring a graphics card in a game manager is beyond me (found that out when updating video drivers, where origin stops working with a "graphics card not detected" message).
I did resolve the flickering by disabling the multi-GPU function of the card...so if anyone with a multi-GPU and/or SLI setup is having similar issues, you may consider disabling that for better stability.
Still get crashes though, seems like on average of 3 matches. Have had shorter and longer runs. Maybe it is just a "feature" EA implemented for force gaming breaks Though I haven't been getting the pop-up message since disabling the multi-gpu, unless it is hidden behind something else.
Same sentiment when quitting. The couple of times I have quit on my own and not because of a crash, it easily took like 5 minutes, if not more...hell, one time I actually got a "server disconnect/kick" for being idle. Could even still hear squad members talking while on the black screen. Alt-F4 will be my quit button of choice in the future.

This DirectX error is most predominant when playing with a GTX 770/970 with 4gb of vram. It likely has to do with DX10/11 texture memory overflow and most likely the 3.5gb/0.5gb partition issue that plagued them. This is why it only happens on texture heavy maps like St Quentin Scar (all those blown up trees). This is clearly a driver issue that needs to be addressed (pun intentional) by Nvidia.
Surprisingly I was able to fix it on my end by:
* Updating my RealTek drivers to R2.79 (this was a possible reddit suggestion but it didn't fix the problem by itself (I use the onboard sound))
* Turning ON DirectX 12 in BF1. I only crash with the DX GetDeviceRemoved error if I have BF1 use DX11
* Disabling the Origin in-game overlay (again, a reddit suggestion that didn't help by itself)
I am running a single GTX 770 4GB with 375.63 drivers on Win 10 Pro 64 on Asus Z79-A with an i5-4690 and 8gb of GSKILL F3-12800CL7D-8GBXM and a Samsung 840 EVO SSD. I play at 1080p.
Origin is crashing at the same time for you probably because you have the Origin in-game overlay enabled. In game overlays always use directX injection to render. So a DX crash can crash Origin's Qt hook that's trying to draw to the screen. I have the in-game overlay disabled (of course, now I cannot re-enable it anymore, so that's broken too).

Re: BF1
I'm having these issues, as well. DirectX issue, NVidia driver hang, and inability to quit.
The best way I've found to get around the inability to quit is to wait for the next map to load, hit escape and then quit. This works every time for me.
