    2018 TBA

It's in the bottom of the list. The shooters of 2018 | PC Gamer

    Battlefield
    TBA | EA DICE
Rumors abound for the next installment of Battlefield (popular YouTubers with mixed track records have claimed it’ll be set in WWII, walking back earlier claims of a Bad Company sequel), but we’ll just have to bunker down and wait for more substantial news.

A BF 1942 reboot with ships?! Nah, probably another same old same old shit where players can not attack the uncap to harass the enemy. If it's not modifiable, it's going to be the same crap like BF3,BF4,BF1. EA/DICE needs to support the modding community. Not gonna happen. No revenue!

I want big ships like on Wake island, Battle of Midway, and Iwo Jima.

I would love for a good new BF game, but have ZERO hope.

I will keep hopeful but my spirits are low. BF1 was like 1 step forward and 5 steps back.

Yup, EA aint getting my money this time! They borked this all up too many times.

Battalion 1944 looks promising though. I want another game that I play for 5 years, not 5 months...

You can finally play Battlefield 1943 on PC thanks to this mod | PC Gamer

Mod to play BF1943..needs BF2 installed.

    bogie 2hours ago

Ok, I have BF2 installed on Origin and BF1943 mod in the mods folder.

How do I play online as the EA accounts are all dead?

    Anthony817 40mins ago

You have to use BF2 Hub, and somebody has to host an online server for us. I don't have another dedicated machine to be able to do so unfortunately. I asked for people willing to host servers for us but nobody has come forward yet.

Way too much work and not enough people on the team to realize that.

I am only working on mid 20th century mods right now because I have most of the content already. WW2 and Korean War I can easily do, hell even Vietnam I could do. I could literally pick up and finish developing the Eve of Destruction mod as I have access to a lot of better equipment and other things.

I am not choosing to do that right now because I am working on BFKorea, Battlefield 1943, and now that I have to announce it, I am starting work on Battlefield 1944. This is a modern more or less HD remake of the original Batttlefield 1942 game from 2002. This 1944 mod is going to be the basis for my BFKorea rebuild from scratch since it uses lots of the same stuff.

I have been unsuccessful in being able to get my Korea mod stable at all. Timo and I have finally been able to get 1943 stable for us, and now 1944 is stable from the work I have already started on it.

1944 will hopefully have working aircraft carriers, and battleships as well as PT Boats if we can make it happen.

"Today Electronic Arts confirmed the delay, although also insisted that it is not actually a delay at all, and that it's not the result of development issues at BioWare but simply a matter of scheduling. There's a new Battlefield coming in October, and EA CFO Blake Jorgensen told the Wall Street Journal the company decided that Anthem will "get more attention if it came out in a quieter quarter.""

    Re: 2018 TBA

    I pasted the whole article.

We know a new Battlefield game is releasing this year: publisher EA confirmed as much in January. So the most pressing question now is what kind of Battlefield game it will be, and according to new rumors, the October instalment will be set during World War 2.

That's according to anonymous sources "familir with EA's plans", speaking to GamesBeat. The sources claim the game will be called Battlefield V (because DICE and EA don't care about numbers running in order!), which is a name decided recently following the internal use of 'Battlefield 2'.

US Gamer has heard similar. They report that sources have confirmed "loot boxes are back but cosmetic only. Way more customization options for your soldiers than previous games." As they note, cosmetic-centric loot boxes featured in Battlefield 1, too.

It makes sense that World War 2 would follow a World War 1 setting, though I had quietly suspected EA might release something more akin to Battlefield: Hardline this year (ie, a spin-off). But given that game's multiplayer component was consistently overshadowed by its predecessor Battlefield 4, it makes sense that DICE and EA would want to return to the series' roots. And it won't be long before we hear more: DICE's senior video director Randy Evans tweeted this week that the game's reveal trailer is underway.

And besides: Battlefield 1 has been a runaway success: it had been played by more than 21 million users as of July last year.

    Re: 2018 TBA

    Hi All,

I look forward to this game, but with hope rather than a knowledge of a game that fits what I expect from a battlefield game.

The success of Battlefield 1 will only spur on the developers in a the direction they are going. Lush eye candy environments and tight maps that will see action right on top of flags that have been placed near each other in a circle jerk. That means snipers shooting at each other across flags and at those moving from flag to flag.

It would be nice if they would include a sever side option to include or exclude base raids and also give the option of commander assets. But I dream, the route they have taken is so far from that.

More COD like is what I see. I most certainly will not I believe, be buying Premium as I did with BF 1. They screwed me good with that one.

    we shall see.
