    The reason you were able to do that is probably because the mine was placed right at the lip of a ramp(top) where there is a little dip. I've done the same thing, and seen the same thing. That's why since loooooong ago, I've always put mines well away from things like that just to avoid that. No, the one that I witnessed was not in a dip, it was on flat and level ground, in shadows, where it would have been near impossible to see (Operation Clean Sweep at the MEC Airfield entrance).

    What amazes me more is that you stay alive more than 5 minutes as an engineer...

    Oh, you definitely can drive over mines. I drove over a couple in my jihad jeep yesterday going full speed. It's fun to listen to them explode behind you...
