Re: Question on logging in.
remmeber, hawke.....there's nothing to "join" per se. TTP is simply a place, and you're already here. Having that reserved slot, or being selected to be an admin simply makes it easier for you to navigate in and out of TTP servers.

Re: Question on logging in.
Well.......what a nice holiday afternoon thread to read while I'm waiting for the boss to slip out, and then slip out myself....
Interesting to think back to the time there was no TTP to play on....
I wonder, though - is it all worth it?
And then I remember conversations and feelings of - sad to say - dispair, that we all knew in having something we love (gaming) so corrupted by all the things we stand against.
Yeah - Hub, D, Odawgg, Geeseven...all original.
Interesting, as well, that most have dropped away over time - and not to say the original admins were anything less than spectacular - but looking at the set up we have now - it's like everyone's found their place, and I honestly wouldn't trade this group of teamplayers and regs for anything short of one more night with ...bigdog...'s mother.
I mean seriously. I love you guys (and his mother).....tear. :'(

Re: Question on logging in.
It is a good move to make.
I'm not as old as Hawke, but I have the full time 9-5, plus girlfriend at home blah blah blah.
That's the main reason I have to play earlier in the evening than you guys weekdays, and miss alot of the reg vs. reg action.
Having a reserve slot really helped to maximize my playing time, no waiting 30+ mins sometimes to get on and get to killing.
Without my slot, many evenings I had to simply admit that I wasn't going to be able to log in soon enough to get a good 2-3 rounds in. Now I can happily log in and be shooting people shooting whenever I want.

Hawke, Redeye
I've noticed y'all are improving dramatically as leaders. As you've learned by now, it isn't about being able to shoot every thing that you see. (Or in Zhadox's case, knifing everyone) You don't have to be perfect on every kit there is.
However, knowing who on your team IS good with a particular kit, now that's gravy. I pretty much am entirely support and engineer now. I don't bother with the recon much. But I know if I have WinterSays or TurtleSexx on my team, the recon portion is taken care of.
You guys don't seem to be locked in to the mindset of trying to pound a square into a hole cut for a peg. War of attrition has its time and place (pushing console 1 or 2). Your already working on fast and fluid with squad cohesion. I've seen so many "clan" members visit us and never learn those concepts yet.
Point is, $5/month, you're improving your skills rapidly, contributing to a solid core of GOOD gamers, can teach/hook new gamers. Which is kind of cool in its own right. It's money well spent.
I think I've actually saved money since I bought this game. It's gotten to the point since BattleStar Galactica and E.R. wrapped up, I haven't even turned my TV on.
I've got some more things I want to try as a squad leader, but that is for another time.

Re: Question on logging in.
Well I've been on TTP since about January and it is more than addiction to me. I continue to get more and more involved and have found a place to hang out with a lot of good people. People that I would rather go home and squad with that I will probably never meet in person but that have taken the gaming experience to a whole new level that I didn't even know existed. I am proud to donate monthly to a worthy cause so that others can share the same experience i have. Thanks to the founders and the guys that work so hard to keep this place great. I hope I can be a true contributor in the future of TTP.
And I'll just call myself out before anyone else does...."Turtle quit being a fag"!!!!
