anyone interested in being a transport pilot or driver on TTP's BF2 Server?

I know a month or so ago, i made a post about how i wanted to go on the defensive.

Well I think for the next few days (i am will be away starting next Tuesday from bf2 and pr for about 8-10 days) I am going to be starting up my own squad on several maps by the name 160th SOAR (or something like that depending on how long a name i can make in the custom squad area)

Whoever wishes to join please do, I want to see how well something like this could work along side a commander who communicates. I have seen it done in PR, and I know it can be done in bf2.

Whether it be an apc/Humvee/vodnik driver dropping of troops, or a blackhawk/mec transport/ dropping off troops, i think its possible....and i think it could work especially on this server which we all call our home.

So if anyone is interested in joining me in this little experiment be ready to spawn medic, engineer or support, and grab a blackhawk, Humvee etc, talk to the me (presuming i am the SL) i will then rely my messages to the commander (and if he isn't talking ill have to do it thru team chat) and lets see if we can bring our boys to the battlefield!!!

(i don't need any specific badges nor, would i exploit a thread like this to obtain such things, this is merely something i have been wanting to try for a while)

And to clarify this even more, the strict purpose of this will be to drop and extract other squads/other squad members in and out of battlezones....

in a way yes you are a taxi driver, but teamwork is necessary in providing flag taking and providing support to the troops on the ground.

I am in. I usually squad up with a buddy of mine, elvis12, and we are all about full on flag attack. We often end up playing alone because we can't find 4 others who want to spawn green all the time. I will ride/fly/drive any vehicle that can get us there in style. I am mean with the support kit, but have no problem going medic, engineer, or AT when needed. If you see me on and we're on the same team give me a shout and I will roll with you.

tgross, I'd love to join you, sounds like it would be fun to try. I won't be able to play BF2 until this Tuesday (Wife and I are going away for a long weekend for our 10th anniversary) so if I see 160th SOAR after you get back and you have room I'll join in. If you are able to give this a try over the weekend post the results, I'm curious to hear if it worked out or not.

Civil, played with you and elvis a bit last night, unfortunately the server was ridiculously unbalanced but it was still a lotta fun.

Also tgross, I missed your post about defensive play, but I'm always willing to spend a round defending flags. It kinda depends on the map, but holding Intake/TV Station/anyflagonTampa/etc. is pretty satisfying. If you want just hit me up with an invite or whatever and we'll defend to the death! (and then spawn again...)

Had fun. It happens, but oh well. As long as people on my team are actually trying to do something I am down. I just hate it when half the team is on the Essex playing cards and i am getting my @$$ beat down trying to get flags.

I'll sit high in the sky for both sides of the map in a transport helo as SL, so you guys can spawn on me and paratroop down to the objectives. I find that quite fun.

Wow, there are alot of new faces here and I just wanted to say to all of you in this thread, Welcome to Texas ...TeamPlayers... It is an honor to have you here and we appreciate your involvement in the community....

I look forward to personally meeting everyone of you and hopefully, I will see you on the Battlefields in BF2 and Project Reality.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know about us over on 4RealGaming.com We are a small community trying to put the fun back in gaming, more along the lines of a gaming family rather than all about being number 1. we are planning on starting this on April 7th at 9PM EST. team sign ups will last until (i hope) monday the 6th.

so you know there will be no complaing, no arguments from any team playing, and a fun time for all who participate.

the rules are posted on our site, the only main rule is you have a full team of 4 to play as no AI survivors are allowed. i actually made up the rules myself, being a typical gamer i made them up being very simple and left no room for arguments... that is how basic they are, i wanted to leave the fun in the game.
