Thread: Have you ever had one of those days ?

I got my first purple heart in awhile...i think last night, it might have been the night before...the last 2 nights have absolutely sucked for me. I am already itching to leave work and go play again though, I just felt dirty I did so bad last night.

The only saving grace was that I crashed on bridge...I just let that call it a night for me...

Angel, I know what you mean.....I did'nt mind me dieing so much....but when your Squad Leader your team just does not perform as well. Besides I can here them say...He sucks......not that they say it....but you know thats what they are thinking......Baaaadddd Leadership skills. Feeling dirty, yes I have to agree with you...thats exactly how I feel.

Did I help contribute to that with the Goliath last night? Kind of neat to see the body fly when hit from the driver's gun. I will say it again, I LOVE my sonars.

What's funnier, is I know you have a goliath with a sonar on it...I was running at you from al angles trying to shot you but staying out of sonar range. Of course, once I get one shot, the gunnars see me...but it was still a fun game of hide and seek.

Or the people that get in the goliath that *I* am driving and tell me how to drive it. "Go Go Go!" "Move It!"

Uhhhh, bite me. I kept that one goliath up on the battlefield for the entire round that I was driving it. You don't close on walkers, you keep your distance. You blow up the walkers supply kits.

You know there is engineers around you. If someone blasts the damn sonar off the titan, put a new one on. Don't make the driver get out and do it.

Yes, the goliath can take mines. But no need to rush into them en masse. Letting the mines hit the goliath while friendlies around can hurt the friendlies, don't do that.

Even better, if you are not in the same squad as the driver of a vehicle, GET OUT. Comms is too important to both of your survival.

Actually, I typically pop off 2 missiles in quick succession. No need to hold the button.

Think of yourself as a submarine. Gunships are fast moving frigates. If they are making a beeline away from you, your torpedo will never catch them. Head on shots actually work, but it gives your position away. Get out of there before they come back hunting you. The moment they go vertical, they are losing speed rapidly, missiles catch them every time.

Transports are like big fat juicy tankers. But unless its 2 solid hits from the bottom. or the rear, it doesn't seem to take down a completely healthy transport. But as they are slowing down to come in for a landing they are very vulnerable. Hovering is even better because it gives me time to reload as they are trying to get up speed to get out of the area.

I'm not convinced yet, but it seems that the SAAW missiles are affected along the lines of a regular bullet. The further it has to travel, the less damage it does. Just a theory at this point.

Titan defense, get a vehicle sonar going on your titan. 2 mines on the upper back deck, 3 on the lower. Then either jump back to the flight deck and man the guns, or run the sides of the ship with your SAAW. The low flying transports staying below your titan AAs are movign quite slow. You are shooting down at a low and slow target. If he survives 2 shots from that, the mine frequently finishes it off.

But it is fun to rudely suprise a gunship trying to take down your transport or another trying to ram yours. Pop into seat F5 or F6 and get a quick lock on and fire. They are always suprised to see a missile flying at them that they typically break off fast. If you don't get a quick lock on, send one anyone. He doesn't know you don't have lock on, he just sees a missile.

If you are doing air supression out in the field, drop a sonar somewhere in the area around you then get out of that circle. I use that to let me know aircraft are in the area. I can cover some area visually, the sonar just gives me enough warning to turn and face the threat/target if I didn't see it first.

Keep listening. You can hear aircraft quite often before you see it.

Find rocks, buildings, obstacles. Just like a sniper, anything that will give you some cover and concealment. An aircraft trying to spot you while flying high and moving will have a hard time spotting you if you are in teh shadows.

This is how I felt after Tunis Harbor in the wee hours of the morning. I really enjoyed your squad leadership abilities and use of the mic yesterday grayhawke.

Grey it isn't always about how well you do either. I have nights like that too. Either I log off and not play a couple of days or a few hours (which is more of what happens), Or go play another game. I just like hanging with the guys and girls joking around. You may hear me cuss a little but I always try to just laugh at what just happened and go on.
