Isn't it possible to host your own Local server?

And just invite friends or peeps you've met?

Otherwise that's just rly sad

Yes you can but that dosent solve anything.

Whoever hosts local is bassically playing offline and has no lag but the other 3 players are connected to your computer/internet rather than a server so they have alot of lag.

Its not such a problem if u have a really great pc and connection but all the local games ive been in today have been terrible

Ouch >_< surely there should be MORE dedicated servers or things along those lines!

Maybe give it some time and more servers will free up!

I would imagine that the problem is thus:

Most servers for L4D are 'indepedent' servers, nothing to do with Valve. These are set up to run a specific game mode and map, changeable through the server control panel. Almost all of these will be on Versus still, as up until yesterday that was the most played game mode. That means that there aren't many servers running survival maps at the moment, and this coupled with the massive influx of players diving into survival mode due to the 'OMGZ NEW TOY!!!1!!one!!eleven!' factor, means that it's going to be tough to find a good survival server for the first two weeks or so.
