I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I think he means he got kiked, then went to smoke. Not vice versa.

Are you running Vista under administrator? If not, you will want to do that. If you don't you can get issues like this.

I am running Vista 64, and I get CTD every 10 hours of playtime or so...but I think it may be a heat issue I am over clocked from 2.8Ghz to 3.2Ghz on the CPU alone...

That very well may be. 10 hours + of non-stop gaming can really put stress on your computer and if you don't have enough air flow (or in my case water cooling) then it can start to lead to issues like that.

I am running as administrator, whithout it I couldn't even log on to the servers. I have read that the dual core processors have trouble with BF2 or the other way around. Don't know if that could be it.

And if I had XP I would go back, but my house got robbed and they took all my computer equipment, even the reinstallation discs of OS and such. So my new computer came with Vista Home 32.

Hopefully there will be some patch out to take care of these issues, after all Vista is pretty new and MS impatient with launches so...

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx for the support, but ebaconjr got it right. I did go out for a smoke the last 5 min or so, but I didn't get kicked. The next map was loading when I came back but the game poofed on me before it was finished. As for abandoning my team at the end of a round, I swear it will never happen again. I will wipe my tears of frustration and carry on, even if it just means more tickets lost when I die... I do understand the consern about an inactive player taking up a slot on a team that could be filled with a real go getter so I accept my shame and repent.

This all out, relentless quest for the win through teamplay is uncommon and new to me, but I learn more every day. I do hope it will be the last time someone will have to berate me for my actions though. I have read your rules and intend to follow them.

Nuff said I think. (Maybe too much actually :P )

Naw I meant 10 total hours... I am supposed to be looking for a job while I am not in school, my GF would pull a Kelderos and knife me if I played BF2 10 hours at a time!

But the occasional CTD does occur during heavy CPU loading... I was gonna cut some more holes in the case and mount a couple more 120mm fans.
