Re: Highway Tampa on 2142?
I look forward to Highway Tampa. For those who think tactics will play no part, I suggest you discover who Heinz Guderian was or read his book Achtung Panzer to get an idea on how effective mechanized warfare is. It was a large part of how Germany steamrolled through Europe in the early parts of WWII. If you want to play Assault or Support, I suggest you get in an APC or FAV and follow the tanks to the objective. This is the essence of blitzkreig. Infantry is still needed to take the objectives. Armor is the spearhead leading the way with mechanized infantry close behind.

But if the squad objective is an armored convoy......2 mechs, 2 tanks, and an APC for giggles.......nobody is going to get out until they are dead. And any medic getting out of their mech to revive dead people is not only a waste of the mech, but a risk to the team, since they are now failing to utilize some of the most important assets on the team.
Medics serve purpose. 5 medics in a squad serve themselves. Maybe it's good for them, their stats, and their KD..........but 5 medics aren't going to do a damn thing against armored vehicles.

Re: Highway Tampa on 2142?
than losing 3. (dead guy, + revived dead guy + you reviving him).
The huge ass vehicle focused conquests require a totally different kind of strat than the smaller infantry based ones, which IMHO kicks ass. I love how just changing one map from one style of play to another adds an entirely different experience to the rotation.

Re: Highway Tampa on 2142?
anyone who says that flanking maneuvers, convoys, lines of fire, and supply/repair rotations (having qualified engineers to repair while in vehicles, having strategic supply boxes set up)........
It's 10X harder to be effective vehicular combat, becuase you are always exposed, you are always slow, you are always a target.
ground pounders can cry all they want......or they can get on their mics, put out the order, and start defending themselves properly, rather than hiding and getting obliterated only because they refuse to tank it up.
No tactics and strategy in tank battles?
...............right. Tell that to Patton. What a ridiculous statement.

And there's a LARGE % of gamers that DO play like that. It's like they're autistic....stuck in a mental loop as if that's the only way to have fun and game.
Problem is....those people aint gamers.
If you haven't rushed left on dust, or camped the house on italy......if you haven't tail-gunned in an SBD, or shelled wake island in a destroyer......if you haven't napalmed the village in your F4, or played "bird bird bird is a word" in your tank rolling through the streets of Hue.......if you haven't spent 3 hours destroying a russian supply convoy, dodging search helicopters and enemy patrols behind enemy lines.......if you haven't HALO'd onto the carrier or piled into the jeep for a behind-the-lines asset attack......if you haven't strapped your MG to a pile of sandbags in the middle of the beach on normandy, or sniped from the steeple of a church on the coast of italy........if you haven't podded from a transport onto a titan, blowing it's core to bits, and base jumped off the back deck.........
You ain't no gamer. And you are less skilled, and less experienced, and thus less effective when it comes to learning a new tactic, new map, new trick, new vehicles, new ________.
Tanks, as they are in real life, are what war is about. If you don't like tanks, then retreat to the buildings and rubble (like around EVERY silo), set up your ambush, and fight "Saving Private Ryan" style. Play smart, and you will do well.
If you do like tanks........then get your shit together, coordinate with a fat dragon....and go fuck up Private Ryan.
