I thought Goliaths were one team's exclusive. The other team got the fast mover hovercraft things.
yeah,. but the new "double assault lines" I would assume means each team has a goliath. IF not....it kind of gives the opposing team and unfair advantage, if they're the only one with a goliath.
That's true. Unless one team has some other advantage. Maybe it will be better ground or more tanks.
You guys are off base here, Tampa is not going to be a Northern Strike map.

"Assault Lines" is the conquest mode where you have to capture all the flags and can then go for the enemy base flag. It has nothing to do with the Goliath, other than the Goliath is a Northern Strike vehicle and the Assault Lines map style was introduced in NS.

"Double Assault Lines" means that both home base flags will be locked until all other flags are held and can then be assaulted.

There will be NOT be a Goliath nor Speeders in the Tampa map as it is not a Northern Strike map. Expect only the Vehicles that came in the base game to be zoming around Tampa.

Good point. I didn't even think of that. This will be a patch with a map that doesn't require NS to play. Which means that it is more than likely that neither side will have any NS vehicles.

I do hope that the map is at least decent for infantry and not an armor-only type of map.

From what I have read, it is big, wide open, and Infantry unfriendly. On the plus side it has a lot of Intel Billboards for you to check out while your walking

If the BF2 version is any indication, you'll have more armor/walkers in this map than any two maps combined. Count on it.

I challenge you to prove that, definitively. For other than claiming it to be a new "double assault lines" game mode, I haven't heard much about the loadout.

NS was a great preview of the new vehicles....but they certainly don't HAVE to be NS specific. If anything, it would make sense to release a goliath and speeder map now, so that those who haven't gotten NS can get their NS specific unlocks, ribbons, and medals.

I highly doubt it bigdog.

If you do not have NS you do not have access to any of the NS unlocks.

I dont really see them giving access to the major benefits from NS for free.

it's all about keeping people playing the game. NS brought all sorts of reasons for people to play. They won't be able to get all the NS awards, since some of them are specifically for arctic combat stuff. But goliath destruction, running people over in the hachimoto, winning an assault lines round.......they can get those.

Re: Highway Tampa on 2142?

But what's the reasoning behind letting people get unlocks from NS for free? EA makes no profit by giving stuff they've been selling out for free.

NS has been out long enough...they made their profit. You have to balance out making profits, and keeping the game popular.

The more people say "man, I want to go play 2142", the more those people's friend say "really? it's cool? I guess I'll go buy it".

Re: Highway Tampa on 2142?

Maybe. But it only takes 3 people that own it and decide they want the new maps and new unlocks before EA makes as much off NS as they would off of a game of 2142. And actually, that's without figuring in whatever the stores make; from EA link it all goes right to them.

It just doesn't seem like EA's style.
