I did know it existed and people used. I just never bothered trying since I suck at high pounces. But after seeing those cool clips, I wanted to start practicing this myself. I just didn't realize it was used so much.
In my team, i'm the only one who uses it but then again, we're a fairly new team and not as experienced yet.

    I'm best with the Boomer.

I try my best to do it but it's incredibly hard on 360 as you can't steer in the air like you can on PC. But there have been a few moments when I've been so lucky as to land a nice 25-damage pounce. And boy it feels so good especially when you're with a team a 25 pounce is worthy of an internet high-five.

Exactly! When I pull it off I spontaneously say "peekaboo!" imitating a kid-voice in my mic

It's not hard, and yes you can steer in the air. A good amount of the things on PC can be accomplished on xbox - This includes vertical wall jumps, k jumping and especially 25's.

Btw - if you need proof you can control mid air - between a high jump, hold back on your left stick. You'll stop mid-air. The left and the right controls are a bit more stubborn and aren't as drastic, but then again I don't think they're that drastic on the PC either. Obviously you can't go foward.

Tips - because you can't propel yourself more, alwwayyys over shoot your target and throttle back as needed.

to quote myself...on a thread not too far down..to practice

    sv_cheats 1
    nb_stop 1
    nb_stop
    sb_stop 1
    sb_stop
    Director_stop
    sb_all_bot_team 1
    sb_all_bot_team

    i suggest doing this next:

    type in

    god 1

to enable god mode, and jump down off the roof to the alley way and stand near the door.Leave god mode on to practice, otherwise the bot (which wont move) will die to fast.

    type in : jointeam3

spawning will be disabled becasue the director is off, so you will have to spawn yourself.

    z_spawn hunter
    z_spawn smoker
    z_spawn boomer
    z_spawn tank

i suggest binding these to a key so you dont have to keep typing in commands

    eg: bind k "z_spawn hunter"

    i also suggest binding:

    kill

to a button so you can kill your hunter faster after you've landed that spectacular 25 damage pounce.

    PRACTICING WITH A HUNTER:
spawn yourself as a hunter. With the survivor at the door as earlier discribed, run up to the roof ahead. jump from there and land on the survivor for a sweet 25.

you can use : jointeam2 to join the survivors again and position the bots wherever you need them to be to practice

last step: look for videos on youtube for inspiration. these are a great place to start:

get a real feel for it, like 10/10 for a stationary survivor, and then try not entering the nb_stop and sb_stop commands and try.

I'm a tad confused. So you are very close to the survivors, you pounce nearly directly upward and land back down quite close to wear you jumped?

I don't do that. I just go to a high spot that is the farthest distance away from getting a 20+ pounce, and I jump whenever someone is being bashed at or if I get that lucky feeling they will be stationary a bit. One thing I learned the hard way was to always overshoot your jumps. After a month or so of missing and getting no where close I either get a 25 or land right next to the survivor. Which I consider a victory in essence.
