Re: Errant squad members?

I agree that the best outcome is always attained by sticking together. And the easiest solution is communication. I don't really like how some regs seem to like to yell like they are peoples parents on here though. Remember its just a game. Sometimes circumstances come up where Im not gonna be exactly where you want me within 10 secs of you asking me. For instance last night on titan defense I told the squadleader I was going atop to take care of beacon's but on one of my pod attempts from the inside of the titan i missed the top and landed on the engine. I had to jump down and then since there was no apc at our base I had to drive the nearest silo that had an unoccupied apc, which was red btw. I drove in and took the apc and drove back to pod up all in 2 minutes tops. I realize that I should of communicated my intentions but when I get going on an objective like that I get tunnelvision. So next time that happens Ill try and communicate more. I say just ease up a bit on yelling at everyone as if they are a naughty puppy.

If your titan was under attack...then you should have suicided and respawned on the titan. Instead of 2 minutes you could be usefull to the team and your squad in 15 seconds.

I am learning about the judicious use of the suicide button too. I know its not easy to be doing well and then have to "die" to get to where you need to be, but at one point it made the difference between protecting corridor 1 and having our whole titan ripped through in no time flat. I just think it can be hard to think of that sometimes, but I am learning....

Re: Errant squad members?

I seem to miss order changes from time to time exspecailly when there is no verbal comment on the change. I am defending a point following orders and after a bit I realize noone on my squad is near by and hte orders have changed to a different point.

OR

The opposite happens. I hear them talking about defending the titan, but orders are still set to defend silo X. I am defending and defending and get asked to get on the titan. Sure after I point out the orders still say to defend this silo it gets changed, but now I am clear across the map from my squad.

These don't happen to me constantly but happens enough I notice it.

Re: Errant squad members?

People can miss orders but it is the SL job to make sure the orders are understood. In real life a five part communication process is utilized to make sure that orders are recieved and understood. This would cause a lot of unneeded traffic in the game and since real lives are not at stake it is not necessary. It can be shortened and that is what I do in game.

SL: We are on titan defense.
Fire: Copy defense.
SL: Afirm

If I don't get back, I probably didn't hear or was not listening because I'm concentrating on killing some low life.

As SL if I don't get a response the first time I'll say "I need my squad on me now!" Still no response, "Hey so and so get on the titan defense or find another squad!"

If that doesn't work they find another server to play on.
