About the bombadier...he should assist in spotting planes when they are "toning" the pilot. By switching views, he can spot planes that will show up on the mini-map for the fighter to assist or the pilot to use and help evade.
Also, a infrequently used bombing trick, you can actually get two drops out of the bomber or fighter. If when flying over the base to re-supply, if you do a fast run over the runway, the bomber will pick up 4 bombs instead of 5. If you drop those away from the runway and do a slow run to re-supply all 5 bombs, you get two drops. A single bomb will drop on the first click and the remaining four on the second click. This is good for example when you are bombing a heli pad with infantry waiting. You don't have to waste all 5 bombs. The same thing works for the fighter, but you get 2 single drops of 1 bomb each. This is great for accurate bombers, of which, I am not.
