Losing Key Packets?

I was just kick because of the reason given in the title. I am just wondering what that means.

Was I just kicking too much ass? :10

Loss of packets = bad connection?

When I was losing packets, which made me lag, spike, etc. It ended being that I needed to get a new cable modem. Did that and I'm fine now. Any more info. so we can diagnose this?

I believe that is a punkbuster error. If it persists, you may want to update or reinstall PB.

If its packet loss try a trace and see where/if that is the case.

How would I go about tracing it?

This only happened once to me so it could be a bunkbuster error, it sort of came at a good time any how. It sort of forced me to get up and then take a much needed nap.

I have had this issue a couple of times before with 2142. I believe it is because something is blocking punkbuster or punkbuster isn't auto updating. Here are some things that I did to get rid of it.

Make sure that any firewall is turned off. (Obvious I know, but I overlooked this one time and freaked out)

Go to the punkbuster website, and download the manual punkbuster setup. I think it is pbsetup.exe or something like that. It will create html files that you paste to the pb folder in battlefield folder list.

Also, check your services to make sure that punkbuster A and B are on automatic. I think they are called pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB. Also, B sometimes doesn't show up right away. Sometimes you have to start the game, then switch back to see it.

If you google losing key packets, this is a common problem, and there will probably be more suggestions.

thanks I'll see how things go tonight, I am feeling a little itch called PR(thanks to those who suggested it, its like crack I can't get enough of it...not that I do crack.)
