*raises hand* Guilty. Although it is sometimes reassuring to see those one or two squads that you just know can and will get the job done.

Of course, everything is fine and dandy until you run into an enemy squad at your objective, start seeing some familiar names, and realize that they had the same idea too. Then you end up with a squad of regs vs a squad of regs. That's kind of like spy vs spy mutually assured destruction

...And suddenly the effectiveness of the regular squad is reduced by pitting them against eachother and victory is all of the sudden dependent on the skills of the unwashed.

You have to admit, that happens all the time.

November 19, 2007 12:30am eastern time my official worst command EVER. I thought night before was bad, I had no idea until now. I told all my leaders plan right from beginning, and NOT A SINGLE LEADER FOLLOWED ORDERS AT ANY TIME OF THE WHOLE GAME! The leaders i started with all were kicked by the end of the game except for leader 2. I had one guy tell me to calm down I was calm I just wasn't going let this stand. I spent whole time issue orders by game so there was no denying I asked repeatedly to do what I wanted and they didn't comply. I couldn't do anything as commander because all my leaders where doing what they wanted. There was only leader 2 who followed orders out of 5 squads. We might as well have had no commander because all I did was argue and right click objectives that no one followed. I told one guy I gave him orders over and over before asking for an admin. His reply was along the lines of yeah so what I do what I want. Two guys had smilier names had both kicked and then one came back with same name but slight diffrent spelling just to make a mutiny against me. The other guy with his name made libido jokes about me because I got his friend kicked for non team play. Both claiming to be team players, which made my jaw drop. I can't command anymore I have no idea what happened here, but everytime I command now I constantly have ask for an admin I might as well squad lead or be squad member.

Well... sometimes you just get rounds with crappy squad leaders. For what it's worth, I took command a few rounds after you left, and I had three squads with mics who followed orders beautifully, one of which wasn't even a regular that I recognized. That said, sometimes it just doesn't work out.

From the point of view of a non-5th, you're completely wrong. 5th guys always work for the best of the team and communicate with everyone. If they're in the same squad as me, I know I can trust them. They're also damn fun to fight against because they provide a challenge, and a fight that offers no challenge is outright boring.

I hear you. I've been in that situation, and by far it's the worst to be in. I used to get irritated when the battlefield was fubar. Trying to regroup your team is difficult, especially when they have their own agenda. I can't recall how many times I've asked a squad to defend, they accept the order, then instantly moving off to attack another objective, but still keeping their defend order, only to loose the objective the were ordered to defend. I've even resigned command, due to the fact that no one was listening to a single command. I figured might as well be on the field trying to make a difference.

On one occasion I remember telling the squad leaders repeatedly to communicate with their squad members, because they were scattered all over the place. I in turn received a comment from one squad leader in the likes of, "If you only could stop the constant bitching, maybe they would be more motivated to do so.". Thinking to self, " I didn't realize squad members could hear me you ...." I FRIGGIN lost it, but still kept my composure, didn't utter another word, finished the round, and stopped commanding for a month. Since then, I have refrained from bitching, and have resorted to another form of bitching, by belittling the squad that is insubordinate, and by letting another squad take over their objective. Usually in the likes of, "Alright squad 2, can you take over defending, because squad 4 doesn't seem to understand the term defend." Feels like I'm still bitching. Well anyways, as soon as the FRIGGIN CLAN becomes a resident clan, you won't be hearing any bitching of any sort. I'll give the squad 2 chances to explain or comply, and then I'll be calling for Admins just like you.

It's always best to throw out the trash, rather than let it stink up the place.

I really do wish that some of our regulars/reservists would quit concentrating into the same squads. Spred out some more. Grab the newbs/visitors. Instruct them. You clan guys are missing golden opportunites to snag new blood by not trying to include visitors from time to time.

I never really thought about it that way, and will do my best to take on that role. I'll probably still be guilty on occasion, just cause of the laughs I have being in an all regular/reservists squad.

Sat evening on Bridge our Squad leader left the server shortly after the game started dumping the SL on me. I hate being SL, I suck at it. I can tell I frustrate folks that are used to some of the other regulars that do an excellent job at it. I only do it now days when it gets dumped on me.

Our commander ([BD]Hydro?? I think) was saying they were in our back base keeping him from doing squat.

I asked if he needed our squad back there to help to which he said yes. Soon after I saw someone bitching out the squads for not helping the commander out and doing nothing but bugging him while we had 2 stolen Walkers in our base harrasing him nonstop (my squad killed them and got it under control about this same time)

Next thing I know we had a new commander (Artermis?? I think) I think our 1st commander finally quit out of frustration but I admit to not paying attention to the chat screen relying on VOIP for communication. To whom ever it was, If I missed something I appologize. However i got the feeling it wasn't directed at my squad but towards some of the others that were just doing thier own thing.

My squad spent the rest of the round fighting back the enemy squad out of our locked uncap and Blood_Thrist finally destroyed thier Beacon about 1/2 sec before the game ended. We won but it wasn't pretty and I could tell there was some frazzled nerves on our side from the lack of cooperation.
