Flag bug?
Hey guys. Has anyone heard about what the deal is with this flag bug? For those of you that havnt seen it. Basically you go to cap a flag and it never changes teams; so your flag will go all the way up but the spawn still belongs to the other team. Glitch, bug, or zomgHAX! ??
I have some screenies at my computer at home. I'll post them tonight if you want.

Re: Flag bug?
This isnt a case of an enemy hiding in the flag zone. The enemy flag drops to the bottom, the flag changes to gray, but the site still belongs to the enemy. Now that the enemy flag has gone down, and turned grey, the friendly flag begins to rise. Once the friendly flag reaches the top, its stays, but the site still belongs to the enemy.

Re: Flag bug?
It is a bug. I've run into it on the TTP server fairly often, and it doesn't matter how many people you have at the flag to turn it, it doesn't turn. The only way I've found to turn it, is to let the OPFOR come in and take the flag then retake it after they have it. I don't know why it works like that, all I know is that it does.
As for having a hiding spot, that only applies when you can turn the flag by having more people from your team there to turn it, than they have to keep it the same. IE. if the enemy has three guys at the flag to hold it, you can walk four people from your team and the flag will turn as if there is only one person there at all. The flag change rate is determined by how many people are at the flag to capture it. If you have one it turns at a certain speed, two is faster, three is faster than two and so on and so forth. When you have equal numbers of opposing forces at the same flag point, the flag doesn't move. That is equivalent to having nobody from either team there. As one side gets more people than the other side has at that same flag point, the flag starts turning as if only the extra amount of people were the only ones there.
The catch to this is, if there are five from one team and one from another that is not found, as soon as the five leave the circle of influence, the flag once again starts changing back to that one persons side.

Why can't my friend play 8-player modes?
I have a buddy that lives about 4 miles down the road from me. We are both on Road Runner and we both play on 360.
He can not play versus or scavenge modes without suffering from horrible lag. He has no problem playing 4-player co-op and gets a great connection. He has no problem playing versus mode in L4D1.
He does not have a router, his cable modem is connected directly to his Xbox.
The only differences between his connection to the internet and mine are:
- I have a Linksys router which is connected to my cable modem. I have VOIP (digital phone) service through Time Warner, so my cable modem is not the "standard" model. I am on the standard internet package.
- He has Road Runner lite and the model of cable modem I see Time Warner handing out all the time. Just about everyone I know in the local area has this model of cable modem.
If he hosts the game locally I can connect to him and neither of us will lag, but his connection can only support about 3 - 4 people before the lag gets really bad on my end. This is true for any game we play (Borderlands begin the biggest offender). I've always figured that since he's on Road Runner lite that bandwidth was the main issue here.
If I host the game locally he will have a horrible connection from the get-go while everyone else will have at least a decent connection to the game. This happens no matter how many people are in the game with us.
If either of us choose to host the game on a dedicated server he'll have a bad connection and usually lag out while I will have a great connection to the game.
I'd appreciate any help with this I can get...even shots in the dark. We'd really like to be able to play versus mode together!
