@gosteelers826 - Thanks for your support xD Today this forum, tommorow the world!!!
well that explains why you want the tank damage to stay the same. and if your killing it on expert or advanced your right about that, although i was referring to versus mode :P

As everyone says, different tiers, like the police baton, those aren't made to be lethal, they're made specifically so that they won't kill a man (Though if you beat someone over and over with it they will die), so it shouldn't be godlike with its swing speed, it shouldn't even kill common infected in a single kill, it should knock them down or something, but not kill them, the frying pan couldn't kill three people in a swing either.

I can go on, but yes, I agree that melee weapons do too much damage, quite frankly they could fix all of this by just returning to push spamming, sure it was overpowered as well, however at least it wouldn't instantly kill every single thing that came withing a 10ft radius of your face. VALVE really took a step back with the way melee weapons worked in L4D2, however the idea of a sequel is also to keep the general controls and ideas of the original, so if they overhauled it to remove this imbalance then they could hardly call it a sequel, just another zombie game.

yeah i can see what your saying. well while i think melee weapons are overpowered. i don't want them to be nerfed so much, that they collect dust. i don't mind the instant deaths of the CI so much. what mainly gets me is how they can down SI just as easily. in my point of view like Amicus said. blunt melee weapons like the baton, frying pan, ect. would be like an upgraded shove. they could still kill CI but it would kill 4 infected per swing. that and it would take twice the hits to kill SI. the fireaxe, katana, and other bladed weapons would still have their lethality, but only kill one or two infected per swing.
