"There's a tank, everyone come AT"
Hey guys,
It seems to happen during everyone round, our squad is at a flag, an enemy tank shows up, we all die, but...we can still spawn at the flag if they haven't captured it yet. I as well as others have said, "everyone come AT." I'm not sure I agree with this tactic. Firstly in many cases, the tank will be accompanied by soldiers on foot. I don't know about everyone else but I can't kill crap with any of the weapons offered by the AT kit except the rocket launcher itself. Secondly, it takes more than one shot to take a tank. Thirdly, after respawning, you are temporarily disoriented until you know where you are with respect to the tank, and then he kills you without a second chance at spawning. Fourthly, if everyone came AT, then there is no medic to revive you. Fifthly, every variation of the G36 Assault rifle is an awesome weapon, I can't say how many times I have made killer shots from a distance while the enemy was on the run along the horizon. So by having at least one medic or one spec ops, you have a much greater chance to revive one of the AT's to take a second shot at that tank, and as a medic, you have a greater chance at killing the foot soldiers.
This may be the wrong way to play but I like to play for awards. In other words, when the round begins, I like to pick a kit, depending on what the SL wants and stick to it for the entire round. At the beginning of the round, the SL needs to know exactly want kind of play style he expects and he needs to specify what kits and how many he wants. This in many cases depends on the map you are playing on.

Re: "There's a tank, everyone come AT"
I like to have a certain combination of kits for the whole round when I am squadleader. That way I know what I have to work with and if my squad does as told it will be basically 50/50 AT/medic with slight variations. That way we have the armor covered and the medics can revive the casualties.
But I have been known to call out for "my ATs" when facing an armored collumn...
As for killing footsoldiers, the DAO-12 is hard to beat in the right hands. But my fav is the G36E.For when the One Great Scorer comes, to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the Game

Re: "There's a tank, everyone come AT"
Well, personally when I say everyone come AT I am really intending that everyone EXCEPT my personal medic should AT, that leaves one medic for everyone in those 'oh shit' times. Additionally, like you said, unless you're hacking, it takes more than one shot to kill a tank, sometimes as many as five, and that's without even considering whether the tank has an engineer or supply crate somewhere repairing it. THAT is why I want my whole squad to come AT (except for my personal medic) because if four spawn in AT and one gets killed there are still three left to fire on the tank while the squad leader is busy with the infantry, if there are any, or hiding so the tank doesn't kill you upon spawn. If your squad leader isn't doing that in the presence of a tank, then your squad leader isn't thinking to clearly. The key idea here is to get as many shots on the tank from different directions so the tank can't take you all out at the same time. But then there are some who insist on spawning on the squad leader and then immediately shooting on the tank with a AT round, tipping off the tank as to where the squad leader is.
